Have a wonderful day and weekend and enjoy the pictures!

We return to l’Afrique…

Today, pictures from valued commenter Le Comte de Monte Cristo, fka Edmund Dantes.

I’m going to bat cleanup with a scattering of images that were arranged out of order, compared to the coherent timeline of what I posted.

Enjoy!

Makgadakgadi Pans, Kalahari, Botswana

This photo was toward the end of a spectacular day!

More Africa, uncategorized

Okavango Delta, Botswana

Stunning Night

Okavango Delta, Botswana

This little guys were all over at Eagle River

This is how you travel in this region

It was pretty damned plush for no AC and 115 degree heat…

Border of Zimbabwe and Zambia

The bridge between Zambia and Zimbabwe is an engineering marvel and quite the meeting place and melting pot.

This is a favorite photo of the adventure – the Countess standing in Zimbabwe with a Zim border cop

Thank you so much Le Comte de Monte Cristo, fka Edmund Dantes, do send us more when you can.

Travel safely everybody, and do share some stories in the comments, even if you’re joining the conversation late. Many folks confide that they go back and read old threads, one reason these are available on the Quick Links menu.

    @waratah:

    Next round of photos you’ll see will be a bit of old home week for you, I’m afraid. Manly Beach and a very wet Sydney New Years Eve from the viewing spot at Hickson Road Reserve at the base of the Harbour Bridge. ?

    @p.a.:

    Had a great photographer- quite a bit of trickery there – we probably tried that 15 times, and I really needed some cold beer and an ibuprofen after…

    We almost had to walk across that bridge dragging our luggage. The Zambians had closed it temporarily for road repair, but we had a plane to catch on the other side. Some fancy negotiations by our guides got them to open it long enough for our bus to cross. Your pics brought back wonderful memories

    @Le Comte de Monte Cristo, fka Edmund Dantes: Manly beach was a favorite for family trips. One of my aunts lived in a home across from the beach. Fun to walk out the front door and cross the road to the beach.
    I will enjoy seeing the changes.
