It’s an ad, but it made me cry. In the seventies, I was often the only girl in the weight room. So, so glad things have changed for young female athletes, but not enough, apparently.

Two of my nieces played college basketball, S was a point guard and L a power forward. I was visiting my sister and the girls invited me to the outdoor court at a park on a Saturday morning. A couple of guys in their late 20’s were at one end the girls at the other. The guys asked if they wanted to play two on two half court. My nieces kicked their asses. L who is 6-2 and weighs about 180, dunked over one of the guys. She had knocked him out of the way on her trip to the hoop. She tossed him the ball and said, “That one is on you little man!”
