Good Morning All,
On The Road and In Your Backyard is a weekday feature spotlighting reader submissions. From the exotic to the familiar, please share your part of the world, whether you’re traveling or just in your locality. Share some photos and a narrative, let us see through your pictures and words. We’re so lucky each and every day to see and appreciate the world around us!
Submissions from commenters are welcome at tools.balloon-juice.com
A glorious tradition in DC – thank you Japan! – it’s often a magical, sensuous entreaty from Spring. I am so thankful for this submission, it really is a wonderful, glorious thing. I wish all of you could smell those fragrant blossoms as they drop and scatter on the wind.
Have a wonderful day, and enjoy the pictures; hopefully this will spur a lot of cenote submissions from you divers out there!
Today, pictures from valued commenter saving private equity.

My son and dil vacationed in Tulum last year and loved it. The pictures make me wish that I were on the beach right now.

Looks like I copied and pasted incorrect intro text. Sorry for the confusion folks!

Baby pic is awesome.

My own are 30 and 32. That baby pic resurrected a distant memory or 2 and brought a tear to my eye. Makes me all the more anxious for the birth of my 2nd granddaughter in August.

Dived no less than a dozen cenotes between Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen – some famous, some not so much, and one that I was one of only 5 divers who ever entered. Now I’ve got to upload some cenote dive video to a linkable site…

@Alain the site fixer: Thanks–I’d gone back and re-read several times, trying to figure out what I had missed and where I’d missed it.
