Cersei Lannister: Murderous psychopath or misunderstood wine mom?
Why not both? She’s one Westerosi hair product away and several power levels above the “can I speak to your supervisor” haircut and the snippy Yelp reviewer.
My mother is fine. I made her waffles with macerated berries, whole fat yogurt and honey. She doesn’t do mimosas because she generally doesn’t do booze. At all.

At first definitely misunderstood wine mom. But oh man did she go around the bend after losing her Daddy security blanket. Now she’s just in fuckit mode.

Villago Delenda Est
She’s a total PITA as a sibling, too, as Tyrion can tell you.

Jager
Cersei (like some of the women in my life), never knows what will happen when she hits the halfway mark on the wine jug.

Methinks Grey Worm is about to go John Woo on Cersei.

Now all I can think of is Linda Belcher as Cersei Lannister. Linda certainly has the wine mom part down pat.

Considering the state of “technology” in the 57 Flavors of Kingdoms, Grey Worm having automatic weapons could be a game-changer. And if they bring in Chow Yun-Fat, even I would try to watch this soap opera.
ETA: Some among you may decide that Arya is just a shorter version of Chow Yun-Fat. Piffle, I say

When Cersei says, “I will have you fired,” she really, really means it. Ask the High Sparrow.
The fact of no technological, or any other, change/progression throughout history is a common failing in sword & sorcery fantasy. The idea being, I guess, that “magic” takes the place of “change.” Or makes change unstable and unreliable. It has always bugged me.

As stunning as Cersei is, Lena Headey is even more beautiful
There’s a youTube video of her discussing the character of Cersei, and she shows off a much greater range of her personality (i.e. she is not acting the part of a tightly-wound psychopath). When you get to see the whole play of human emotions, instead of a narrow window onto a tortured soul, then my god she’s lovely. And such a nice human being!
Which is also to say: that woman can act. LH is not actually Cersei Lannister! She’s not my favorite character on GoT, but she is the most riveting, and certainly most deserving of a bunch of acting awards.

I didn’t get a chance to see the recent movie about wrestling, Fighting With My Family. I hear she is quite good in it. Will add it to my video watch list.
German police are investigating the deaths of three people who were found in a hotel impaled by crossbow bolts.
Hotel staff discovered the bodies in a room alongside two crossbows, the German news agency DPA reported. The relationship between the three victims – a man in his fifties and two women aged 30 and 33 – was not immediately clear.
The hotel is on the banks of the Ilz river, on the edge of the Bavarian city of Passau near the Austrian border.

@oldster: She really is a wonderful actor, and in the interviews I’ve seen, she seems like the sort you’d want to have a drink with, if you partake of adult beverages.

@CaseyL: by and large there were very few technological advances in warfare until gunpowder. Sure there were tactical changes and specialized armies like horse archers and longbowmen but that was more a product of training than anything else.
This was a direct reaction to Mongol invasions, The fact that the Mongols could do just about everything without dismounting their horses shocked most of Europe into innovation like there’s no tomorrow.
The Night Walkers could have been that catalyst but they were taken out too soon for anything like that. The Dothraki are of course the Mongols of Westeros but again I see little to no change to account for their tactics. Just fear.

@JR:
The crossbow caused a change to warfare. Because a crossbow’s arrow could penetrate armor ended the reign of the heavily armored and mounted knight as the most powerful force in warfare.

wvng
@patrick II: the longbow, while not as powerful, could also penetrate armour and arrows could be shot far more rapidly than a cross bow and with great accuracy by the English archers.

@Yutsano: I don’t know why all the technological advances (or magic) is coming through Cersei via Qyburn… or the Night King. Qyburn apparently isn’t using “magic” (like the Red Priestess) to create the zombie Mountain and he came up with the dragon murdering ballista. Even the Night King figured out how to spear a dragon.

@ThresherK: Did you ever see “The Gayle Tales” episode from Bob’s Burgers? It’s got a pithy GoT
overview from the point of view of a nine year old girl. “And then I shall feed you all with my breast milk!”
Season finale tonight BTW

@oatler.: Tonight’s is the next to last episode. Not the last one. Though I hear HBO is determined not to let the fun end since they are planning three (3!) spinoffs. After she indirectly killed Tommen by blowing up Margery along with the High Sparrow, I think Cersi is no longer playing with a full deck. Like Dany, she has lost everyone close to her and now only has a will to power. I don’t for a second believe she’s pregnant.
