Ok, so he’ll actually show up. Good. But he’s going to need to not fuck around once he’s there. None of this “honorable Republican” horseshit – there are NONE left. Just tell the truth, no playing at making them pull it out of you. Just get the fuck on with it.
Five questions max:
1) “SC Mueller, did the Russians attack us during the 2016 election with the goal of benefitting Donald trumpov?”
2) “SC Mueller, did you find multiple instances of the trumpov campaign welcoming that attack/assistance from a hostile foreign power?”
3) “SC Mueller, were you able to clear or ‘exonerate’ president* trumpov in any way?”
4) “SC Mueller, if any person other than the president* committed the acts of obstruction you noted in vol 2, would that person be indicted and facing multiple felony charges?”
5) “SC Mueller, when you noted ‘other processes’ to address the acts I mentioned just now in question 4, were you referring to the impeachment, trial, and removal of the president*?”
10 minutes and we’re done here, America.
Oh wait, that’s right…the entire GOP establishment continues to enable this criminal…hey, what exactly DO the Russians have on you guys, Republican officials? Let’s talk about that a bit…

@Aleta: July 17th is the day we’re flying home most all day from vacation…I’m not sure it’s a bad thing that we will be mostly incommunicado until we get home that evening…
The Democrats had better put together some good questions. No grandstanding.

Mueller allowed 42 days to pass after the publication of his report before publicly speaking about it.
Mueller will have allowed 90 days to pass before appearing before Congress to answer questions about his report.
As I have complained ad nauseum, time and timing are not concerns of Mueller. Although Barr understands damn little; unfortunately, he does understand time and timing.

Guests on Lawrence O’Donnell making “the” point: we have as a country become numb to these violations by trumpov and the enabling of the Republicans.
“[trumpov] is an admitted sexual assailant. This is #22. You can demand that America do something about this, just like the Mueller report.”

@Cheryl Rofer: Agree. The Democrats need to shine a light on the evidence. Republicans need to stuff socks in their pieholes.

@Jeffro: One thing I like about you, you get right to the point. All good questions. Establish some FACTS and get it on public record. Keep Trumpov’s dirty dealing in plain view. Hang it around his neck till he chokes.
You spelled out the questions much better than I’ve seen them spelled out. Maybe you should spread word of your framing. Well, except number 4, which I think he won’t answer.

Tonight Lawrence O’Donnell referred to the part of Mueller’s report that mentioned (paraphrasing) “when witnesses lied and destroyed or encrypted evidence to avoid disclosure,” emphasis on when, rather than if. O’Donnell said this would definitely be worth going into when Mueller testifies, as in naming names.
I think a Mueller hearing will be a disaster if they use the recent format of each committee member getting five minutes to grandstand, bloviate or ask one or two questions before their time is up. Either they (Dems) need to yield their time to one designated bad-ass member or (as in Watergate) have professional staffers handle it.
Maybe if you changed your nym to Sacramental Wine…

I really hope they have a non-elected lawyer ask the questions. I’d love to see Neal Katyal asking the questions given that he wrote the rules under which Mueller was appointed.

@BR: @Duane: Thank you both. It’s all right there in plain sight. Ask the questions, draw the lines, make a stand Dems.
ETA: Isn’t Adam Schiff a former prosecutor? Although he hasn’t impressed me with his bad-assed-ness lately, what with all the stern letters and “No, seriously, we’re going to issue a subpoena any day now.”

@West of the Rockies: It isn’t very common to have a senator question witnesses at a House hearing.
@Ben Cisco: This. I’m not sure that House Congressional leaders realize how up to here almost all of us are with “over the next few weeks and we may subpoena him”. They are the only ones who can save us all. When the house is burning, you don’t wait on the firefighters to arrive before you start pouring water on it.

I’d put the probability of getting actual news out of this event roughly equal to the probability of my being elected the next Pope.
