This is so dumb.
We need to be working on saving rural healthcare, getting veterans their benefits & helping make life easier for folks who are worrying at their kitchen tables. We should hit a political reset button & get to work for folks who need us.pic.twitter.com/8Ila9Ko8MD

The video was all over political twitter last night because Donny Jr. thought it proved something very sinister about that Jones fella…
My favorite parts of this video, in order:
1) The tracker gasping for breath;
2) The tracker’s inability to ask a well-formed question
2) @SenDougJones being so cool about the whole thing that his ice-cream sandwich didn’t melt.

This is very funny.
Doug Jones… seems to really know what he’s doing.
I especially like the detail that the person asking the guy from Alabama who was elected by Alabama voters this pretend self-righteous question about Alabamians is from “Colorado Rising Action.”

Lol … Let me clarify that my initial claim was complete horseshit. pic.twitter.com/ATbyYIZohE

Okay, yes, that seems like some very relevant context that ought to be included.
And thank you very much for explaining it because I had never heard that term before.

This video manages to make a fairly nerdy senator look like Steve McQueen if he had starred in a commercial for ice cream sandwiches.
If I were Jones, I’d be sending links to it in my fundraising emails. https://t.co/BmmcoRpviF

As it was written, so it was done!
The Trump spawn really are painfully dumb.
James E Powell
I couldn’t understand the question. What was it?
@James E Powell: I’ve watched the video twice. It has something to do with Drumpf. I think. But why does he give up the game by saying Colorado? That just gives Jones an excuse to blow him off.
@opiejeanne: They take after their father.
And I thought that Eric was the stupid Trump spawn. But damn, Donny Jr is putting all the oo’s in “dumbass fool.”
Informative that Twitter shows GOP attempted dirty tricks in action. Didn’t really know about this “tracker” bullshit. Or knew, but didn’t really think about it.
@Brachiator: Trackers have been around for a while, remember George Allen and macaca?
Robert Venturi would call this “both/and”.
Interesting fact: Ted Bundy was a tracker for republican Washington gubernatorial candidate Dan Evans.
Less interesting fact: I despise Doug Jones for voting to approve Bill Barr. Fucker cared more appearing moderate to goose his reelection chances than he did about protecting America.
At least Roy Moore had a cute horse and a hillbilly fabulous wardrobe. Old Town Road would be a great song for his 2022 campaign, IMHO.
@hervevillechaizelounge: Are you fucking kitting? Roy Moore had cute clothes and a horse? AND HE MOLESTED UNDERAGE GIRLS.
A little hazy, but yeah.
@?BillinGlendaleCA: Yup, first thing that came to my mind.
@hervevillechaizelounge: That’s some weird shit to praise about a child molester.
Gotta wonder which two rethugs voted against.
J R in WV
Well, this just shows what racist and fascis organizations have to do to make good use of idiots who want to volunteer to help with the “cause” — they have to deploy totally unprepared and incompetent folks into the field, unequipped to do anything real.
A bunch of Colorado wannabees spend perfectly good money that could have been used for their fascist uprising, instead wasted sending a Colorado fruitcake out to attempt to ambush a long term government worker, former prosecutor who put KKK terrorists away for bombing little girls in their church basement, now a working Senator, with what Senator Jones correctly nails as a “Really Stupid Question” instantly.
What a working plan to end freedom and Democracy in America!!
John LeCarre throws up his hands.
@Suzanne: pretty sure Don Jr. and Eric compete for “who’s the dumbest”.
@plato: Mike Lee and Rand Paul are the 2.
People forget that he was a prosecutor who convicted one of the Birmingham bombers.
The video is funny ?
Shun the evil autocorrect! Shun it!
Round upthe usual suspects.”
Why does the morning photo thread show up on my iPad and not on my laptop?
eta, some weird shit going on.
@raven: For me, the OTR post showed here on the right hand tab a good 15-20 mins before it showed up in a 2nd window open to the BJ front page. The front page showed this thread with a comment count of 19 long after Amir commented at # 20. Not the first time I have seen either of those. Cole’s tweeter will also lag for some time at points.
I have had the AM open thread finally show up on my screen a good 20 minutes late and a half dozen or more folks have already commented and it wasn’t showing no matter how often I refreshed all 3.
@OzarkHillbilly: Chasin down a hoodoo there. . .
@Amir Khalid: LOL! I suspect autocorrect is to blame for the United Kingston remark by Princess Complicity.
FFS even the premise of that tracker’s question is raw white supremacy: “How dare you be against Dear Leader, just because more people voted for you! REAL Alabamians are the only ones that should count!”
@sukabi: There’s a story that when Junior was born and Trump’s wife wanted to name him Donald, Trump objected that the kid might grow up to be a failure – or words to that effect.
As with all Trump stories it’s simultaneously hard to believe and completely believable. In any case, you have to think that some malignant fairy was listening and granted his wish.
@Ken: “What if he’s a loser!!11”
Indeed. What if?
“Who are you? Who are you here for? Who’s that (Colorado Rising Action)?”
And eating an ice cream sandwich while wearing a suit jacket, something I as a slob, in the relatively temperate state of CT, would never risk.
This is the kind of vibe I like in a Democrat, especially now. Note he never gets anywhere near “Macaca”.
@ThresherK: (Clarify: Jones never gets near insulting the tracker, ,like R’s Allen called the Dem of color “Macaca”.)
Well, Donny Jr., the people of Alabama already had something to say about Doug Jones vs. the GOP. You didn’t like what they said.
Why is Colorado Rising following the Senator from Alabama? Does Alabama not have its own astro-turf groups?
