Despite the complete failure of the staff here at Balloon Juice Actual to get the initial post about a potential Seattle meet up posted in a timely manner, commenter CaseyL has reached out, informed me that a meet up will occur tomorrow night, and provided the details:

Baud
At least you weren’t in charge of keeping Jeffrey Epstein alive.
Spanky
@Baud: Are you sure?
HinTN
@Baud: None of us at the Meet Upening will have any responsibility for keeping (even the memory of) Jeffrey Epstein alive.
Baud
@Spanky:
No.
Gin & Tonic
@Baud: Haven’t you heard? He still is. They spirited him out, and he’s back in no-extradition-land. I read all about it on some blog.
Yutsano
I haz a sad I cannot attend. But I shall be there in spirit! Or maybe I can call Casey tomorrow around 7ish.

@Gin & Tonic:
G&T read it on the Internets! It must be true!
After that, Killary benghazied some uranium one in the basement of a basementless pizza parlor with her emails!
Sorry. It’s hard not to mercilessly mock the ass-backwards conspiracy bullshit.
CaseyL
@Yutsano: I’ll put you on speaker :)

Open thread question.
During the ICE raid about 680 people were picked up. Three hundred were given future court dates. So, were the other 380 people innocent of any crime? Are they citizens or of otherwise legal status? Were they picked up because of wrong place, wrong time, wrong color? Or are they in jail now?
?BillinGlendaleCA
@Gin & Tonic: So’s bin Laden, read it on the internets.
laura
What a cheerful place and great menu for the meet up. Looking forward to the proof of life pics.
laura
@patrick II: just spitballing, but I believe wrong color was the reason. Likely in for profit concentration camps, or on the move to distant for profit concentration camps.
mrmoshpotato
That menu looks deeeelicious.
Adam L Silverman
@patrick II: At least one was an American citizen wrongly detained. The others were processed and either deemed ineligible for parole until their hearings, had outstanding deportation orders making them immediately deportable, or it took longer than 6-12 hours to determine that they could be paroled until their hearings.
BeautifulPlumage
@CaseyL: Hope to make it but would need to get through traffic. Sorry I had to miss the Maple Leaf Grill meetup!
CaseyL
@BeautifulPlumage: We’re likely to be there for a while, and it’s OK if you come late – we’d just love to see you!
chopper
a free parking lot for 8 people?
Mike J
I would love to make it, but getting to the other side of downtown Seattle at 6:30 through traffic would be horrific. Wednesday night is one of my race nights anyway, so I’m probably going to be willing a boat to cross Commencement Bay in 4kts.
patrick II
@Adam L Silverman:
I am a little late to respond, but thank you Adam.
thalarctosMaritimus
@BeautifulPlumage: Seconding what Casey said–I hope you’re able to make it!
