Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

“Loving your country does not mean lying about its history.”

This must be what justice looks like, not vengeful, just peaceful exuberance.

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

Fight them, without becoming them!

It’s pointless to bring up problems that can only be solved with a time machine.

I have other things to bitch about but those will have to wait.

Republicans want to make it harder to vote and easier for them to cheat.

Every reporter and pundit should have to declare if they ever vacationed with a billionaire.

The lights are all blinking red.

Pessimism assures that nothing of any importance will change.

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

A norm that restrains only one side really is not a norm – it is a trap.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

There are some who say that there are too many strawmen arguments on this blog.

Nothing says ‘pro-life’ like letting children go hungry.

Welcome to day five of every-bit-as-bad-as-you-thought-it-would-be.

If ‘weird’ was the finish line, they ran through the tape and kept running.

Republican also-rans: four mules fighting over a turnip.

Proof that we need a blogger ethics panel.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

The media handbook says “controversial” is the most negative description that can be used for a Republican.

Never entrust democracy to any process that requires Republicans to act in good faith.

Sorry folks, I’m completely absorbed in house hunting/planning/buying that I have no time for much else. I will make sure there’s a Friday post – again, my apologies for Wednesday and today.

Have fun house hunting. Did the same in May. Only looked at three and loved the first one which is the one I ended up buying. Hope you find your dream house.

No pics is OK… good luck with all your chores. You looking in No Va? Some folks work in DC and live in the eastern panhandle of WV and take the train into town…

    Anyway. Keep us posted.

@J R in WV: And one of us worked in Arlington, lived in Baltimore, and took the train to the Red line to the Orange line. I used to tell people I had a Washington salary and a Baltimore mortgage and it only cost me 3 1/2 hours a day.

I miss my afternoon naps on the train going home!!

    Not even a headline?!?

Hope your search is quick, successful, and (in hindsight) relatively painless.

@debbie: the head seems to be borked and I don’t know why. I’ll see if the next post is fine as I did nothing to make this happen that I’m aware of.

House hunting is such a pain. Have you considered trapping one?

@Alain: now that I’ve cleared the cobwebs, I realized that the fault was mine. No title equals that. Sorry I didn’t catch that sooner.

Good hunting. It wasn’t the most wonderful months of my life, but we’re pretty happy with what we found.
