    not sure what it is, but links from front-pagers on the main post no longer display for me…. probably due to the lack of fiber in my diet. Using Google Chrome and its decidedly weird because I can see links embedded in the comments when people make them….

    Great way to augment my middle of the night breastfeeding break. Fortunately my little one listened to Queen plenty in utero!

    I’m still trying to learn Asteroids, so most of this is meaningless to me. But I appreciate the humor of overlaying our Founding Fathers culture with the electronic entertainment matrix of 2019. My only caution, and I sound like an old-timer here, is don’t let these electronic distractions stymie or prevent the human relationships you have here on Earth. I have seen young people do that. Your time on this planet shouldn’t all be spent staring at a screen.

    @Zinsky: In some cases, the games are a path to human relationships. Massive Multiplayer Online games have been a thing for a while now, and the relationships that people form in-game are real. That is why we have all the discussions that tell men to quit being crappy to women in online games. Even before the current generation of online gaming, we had Multi-User Dungeons and Dragons (MUDDs), and I took a trip to Canada with some people that I knew from an online game at least 15 years ago.

    @JR: You don’t have to be old to not be into gaming. One of the commenters here writes beautifully about gaming, and I hardly ever have any clue about the game that she is talking about. I read her writing because she writes beautifully. I think it is great when people are so infectiously enthusiastic about something, and I end up reading really broadly because of it.

    I’m watching BBC Click, slowly waking up. They just had a neat story about the SoundShirt. It’s lets deaf people feel music at more frequencies than just a pounding bass. It’s a great idea and should have been invented long ago. It was wonderful to see the wearer’s faces light up in a dance club. :-)

    @Just Chuck: Trump would rage quit long before he had the skills necessary to be a griefer, and then buy blatantly obvious cheats from some sketchy web site. He’d spend all his time trying to convince people that even though he could survive a direct hit from the most bad-ass weapon in the game and move five times as fast as everyone else that he wasn’t cheating.
