Klobuchar and Booker are marketable securities. Harris is a prepaid expense. Yang is a small-cap tech stock. Steyer is a cash equivalent. Jill Stein is an idiot.

Well that clears up … uhh … nothing. Mick Mulvaney, acting Trump centipede.

This should be interesting:
I’m not sure it’s a good idea for any candidate to get deep in the weeds on healthcare at this stage, but here we go.

@Patricia Kayden: I guess I was surprised he even criticized in the beginning. Why even make the effort? I am beginning to believe for sure someone has something on Lyndsey. I haven’t wanted to be prone to that kind of thinking.

@Betty Cracker: I really, truly, seriously wish she would have a public ‘moment of clarity’ and give a speech about, “Y’know…this whole ‘Medicare For Everyone Who Wants It’ might just be a better idea for now…”

I got the car buying blues. Was canvassing for my delegate this afternoon. The walk packet was a semi-rural area, so I had to drive to each house, rather than walk a neighborhood. All the starting and stopping had my car fussing on a few of the starts. Did not make it to the last few houses, because I did not want to get my car stuck in the woods in someone’s driveway. I have been researching, focused on Outback vs RAV4. Looks like RAV4 wins, but fussing over options. Next, dealing with salesmen. Hate it.

@Quinerly: This has been going around on the internet for a while. Here is the source material.

So I have two more interviews this week. First one is a first interview at the #1 firm in the world at what I do, for their office in Boston. Second one is a second interview at a smaller but very well-respected office in Pittsburgh. AND I’m kicking off a new project in Casa Grande this week.
Hand is still messed up. May need surgery.
Miss Bianca
@Quinerly: I am across the Sangre de Cristo mountains from Crestone. Just a crow’s flight away! : )
Starfish
@Suzanne: Good luck on your interviews. Are these going to require you to move?
Starfish
@Betty Cracker: I think that was the main criticism that came out of the last debate. The criticism was that Warren’s plan was not specific, and Bernie supporters did not believe her. Other people pointed out that Medicaid for All is not that popular.
However, I think a lot of people have crappy high deductible plans now so I think insurance companies and drug companies are less popular than they were in the environment that Obama was dealing with.
Quinerly
@Miss Bianca: cool.
Suzanne
@Starfish: YEP! Leaving Arizona!
Could NOT be happier about it. Just stressed about the logistical challenges.
Immanentize
@Suzanne:
Suzanne in Boston sounds like a great thing — at least for me!
Good luck at both.

@Starfish: actually I had a variation of that meme for my Book of Faces profile pic awhile back. ? Just loved seeing it used in the Twitter thread. The mean boys were tweeting for HRC to go back to the woods.

@Suzanne:
PS I should say I really like Pittsburg these days too. I think it is tech up and coming. Both Pitt and Duquesne are doing their best to fill the city with smart young people and cost of living is a fraction of that in Beantown.
Immanentize
@mrmoshpotato:
And the firm will be paying all the moving costs.

@Quinerly:
Article says he paid Trump a visit over the weekend.
Now I can’t decide if he is responding to Trump’s veiled threats to STFU and stay in his own lane re: the Kurds and focus on what he’s still in the Senate for (appoint unqualified Judges and smear Obama/Clinton/the Russia investigation) or if he managed to schmooze Our Great Orange Narcissist in Demented Decline into realizing just how fucking stupid his decision was and how it’s gonna destroy him, so he’d better get on Lindsey’s train.
And statements like this will just be the way he rewards Trump publicly?
Starfish
@Quinerly: I think that if Twitter ever decides to clean up the abuse on the platform. Hillary Clinton or Chelsea Clinton’s Twitter feeds would be perfect test cases because the stuff posted to their feeds is always terrible harassment at minimum.
Suzanne
@Immanentize: I’d love to be in Boston, but I can’t really afford to live there. It’s a problem.
But the firm is….next-level.
Suzanne
@mrmoshpotato: I’m more concerned about timing. Mr Suzanne works in education, so it is difficult for him to move mid-year. And kids in school. And my mom, who is increasingly not spry. And a house to sell. And another one to buy. And a piano to move. And the baby. AHHHHH THIS IS GONNA BE HARD.
Honus
@Immanentize: that’s “Pittsburgh” with an h, laddie.
Suzanne
Should note that I’m going out to Philadelphia in two weeks to interview with yet another firm.
Right now, I think Pittsburgh offers the best lifestyle stuff. I wish it was on the Acela, though.
opiejeanne
@planetjanet: Are you a member of Costco? When we bought our last car the salesman asked if we were members and came back with a number far below what we were going to offer*, plus a sweetheart loan, better than our CU.
*That was 7 years ago, and we discovered that some of the “rules on buying a car” are no longer in play. Used to be that you offered $200 above the invoice (not the sticker price. you have to ask for the invoice price). The salesman offered us the car $200 below the invoice. That was the Subaru dealership near us, another one might not have been as good to work with.
?BillinGlendaleCA
@mrmoshpotato: Ted Stevens* will be delivering the internets for you this evening.

@Betty Cracker:
100% agree with you. It’s the media asking GOP approved questions. trump is allowed to have a beautiful, fabuous health plan, but democrats have to give every last detail. Sen Warren needs advisors to tell her she is not obligated to follow demands from the media or the GOP. She has to get votes from democrats. She can give all the details of her plan when trump gives details of his plans, when trump releases his taxes, when trump explains the non-benefit of his tax cuts.

Just have to ask yourselves, “Is it worth it?”
I’ve moved across country twice. And yes it was worth it to me. Even if in the end I didn’t get the results I was looking for. I found where I didn’t want to live and where I did. I’ve also moved from basically one end of CA to the other. And back. In the last 14 yrs I’ve moved 5 times, not that I’ve wanted to as much as it was necessary. Nirvana doesn’t exist but finding a place that you like to live is close.

@mrmoshpotato:
You know, I just had a thought.
Why give everybody Medicaid? Regardless of anything, everyone gets it. The infrastructure is already in place.
And then allow people, employers, unions, etc. to get richer plans from the private market.

Heh. No one in this interesting conversation, which travels thither and yon as BJ is wont to do, has commented on the initial Twitter quote from Mig Green card. Just as well, because her comment is one part insightful, one part funny and one part gibberish, from an accounting perspective. She strains her initially cute analogy past its breaking point. //CPA pedant

Yep, officer. Don’t recall how high he went, and I’ve never met him. Seen her twice in the last 30 yrs. Do know that he’s been retired for a while now. He may have been a major 30 yrs ago and he almost had or was just over 20 then. She walked into my bicycle shop once with a woman I’d only seen a few times when she was a small child, her next to youngest sister. I’ve wondered where everyone is as most of the cousins have moved all around the country and I’ve moved so much in the last 7 yrs, no one really knows where I live either.

@Ohio Mom: I was born and the first half of my YOOT on Long Island. I miss snow and shitty weather and pretty much all of the northeast. I have fam all over the area, and I am SO DONE with desert living.

Neighbors got a hybrid RAV4 and like it pretty well. They were upset when one of them knocked off a rear view mirror against a tree (we live in the woods) and the dash lilt up, every warning light on until the mirror was replaced – radar units in all those mirrors.
l picked a Mazda CZ-5 because that got the best reliability results in Consumer Reports analysis of mid-sized 4×4 vehicles. We like it very much. Think it will be the same if a mirror is damaged, though.
