Roger Stone has been breaking the law for decades, and were he a black man, he’d be serving life for the drug offenses alone. But now he has finally been convicted for a small portion of his lifetime of criminality and not even spent one fucking hour in jail, and of course his spawn is rushing to state tv at Fox to shed some white lady tears:
Fuck her, fuck him, and fuck Tucker Carlson. And Carlson’s open about how the “Russia hoax destroying lives” is priceless, coming from the fucking asshole who peddled Seth Rich conspiracy theories and was giddy about throwing Susan McDougal in jail to rot.
Fuck these people.

I mean, saying ‘fuck Tucker Carlson’ comes as naturally as breathing. Does it even need to be actively stated?

Sorry, I cannot watch this. Just like I haven’t been able to watch the famous Elise Stefanik clip.
Watching normal, intelligent, people of integrity like Kent, Taylor, and Yovanovitch has made me allergic to spending time viewing these lumps of scum.

On his “show”, Chris Matthews called on Dump to show mercy and pardon Stone.
Imagine how Matthews would be screaming if a Democrat pardoned some asshole who committed treason and lied to Congress about it.

What the fuck is up with Matthews?

@??? Goku (aka Amerikan Baka) ??: What has been wrong with him for 20 years at least?

She and her mother have been bringing a giant Bible to court and ostentatiously praying for the slime mold. I’m surprised it didn’t burst into flames.
And WTF, Chris Matthews? Has he gone crazy? I haven’t watched him in years, because his voice is so braying, but he used to be at least a conservative Democrat.

Tweety has probably been rubbing elbows with Roger Stone at Georgetown dinner parties for the past 20 years, like so many of the other Village Idiots.
Fucker Carlson is apparently being groomed as the new Bill O’Reilly at FOX News, ready to promote white grievance at the drop of a hat.

@Mary G: He was oddly okay during the impeachment hearing yesterday.
He has this weird affection for toxic masculinity. I think something is very wrong with NBC’s corporate culture. Not Fox, but still a bunch of leering, sneering overgrown frat boys running the place.

Well and truly fuck them.
And while I’m here, please no McKinsey wonderboys (Pete) as our candidate.
I say that having worked in consulting for years and gone to Princeton from a working/middle class family.
I know these can-do problem-solver white optimist “let’s rise above all this partisanship and disrupt things” folks. They were my social circle for years and I was one for a long time. Much rather have some other voices getting attention, esp Kamala.

@AJ:
The sad truth is that any Democratic administration is going to be filled with McKinsey wonderboys & wondergirls because that’s who they look to for solutions to nearly every problem. No one argues that a problem can’t be solved by private efforts and must be done by the federal government.
Steeplejack
This two-minute hate on Chris Matthews seems slightly undeserved. Here’s the clip from his show last night. Nowhere does he “call on Dump to show mercy and pardon Stone.” At 3:20 he wonders in his slightly confused way if Trump—or surely Melania—has some urge to pardon Stone because of his long years of minionhood. Stupid, yes, but it’s not mentioned again after that.

This is the kind of stuff I like to tune into Fox(rarely) for because its fucking funny. I know that makes me not nice but I am finding it increasing to be nice to people who are destroying this country in ways that won’t be easy to fix. All that said, I think the daughters plea is for the audience of one. I tell you though she can reach out to Heather Heyer’s mom, the families of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, the families of the kids who’ve died in ICE detention, the soldier who died in Niger who Orange Lump couldn’t even remember the name of etc etc That crap is the direct result of the guy her daddy brought into the presidency. Zero sympathy for her or her family.

It might just be post-surgery boredom, but I watched the video. Man what a piece of work she is. All for the audience of one. But I doubt Stone is going to getr pardoned. Drumpf doesn’t need him anymore and loyalty only runs one way with him. Too bad so sad Roger!

There’s a fair number of commentators here from Pennsylvania, and I’m a bit surprised that nobody mentioned that Mathews’ brother was (at least at one time) a rising star in the local Republican Party, including running for Lt. Governor. Liberal? Say what?

I was listening at work. The amped-up faux outrage was laughable, and I wondered if they remembered their condemning what they labeled as the ginned-up outrage from arugula eaters.

I’ve never watched or listened to this Tucker guy but have stumbled across photos from time to time.

Every story about roger stone should begin with the fact that he was the founder of Citizens United Not Timid with the express purpose of spreading dirt on Hillary Clinton. Ask his daughter what she thinks about that.
Bill Arnold
@Yutsano:
I’m fairly sure that R. Stone still holds some secrets that would damage D.J. Trump if released. There are aspects about his DNC(/Podesta) hacks and Wikileaks related activities that make it seem like he’s continuing to hold back some things he knows.
If so, then he has some pardon leverage. (And given the death of Epstein, probably some paranoia-enhanced fears.) Also, DJT kind of has to assume that R. Stone knows enough to ratfuck him.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Tweety Matthews didn’t call for Trump to pardon Stone, but if he did, it would seem like a maudlin, drunken sob story with nothing behind it. I kid. Chris Matthews is the most rude, shoutey, stupid SOB on TV outside Faux news. OK and Rush Limbaugh Cheesehead, also. He’s pretty rude and shouty all by himself.
Matthews is by far the worst shouter on MSNBC…

What about “it would seem like a maudlin, drunken sob story with nothing behind it” do you have trouble understanding?
I don’t know a dammed thing about Mr Matthews, whether he drinks or not, and care less, but he SEEMS like a violent drunkard on air sometimes when we accidentally turn to MCNBC while he is still on air. Cannot allow a guest to complete a sentence, shouts over their answers, totally unprofessional for what he is supposed to be doing.
I’m not alleging anything about him, I’m just saying how it appears to me, myself. You be you. Don’t jump me for saying something you read that I didn’t type!!

@hells littlest angel:
This is the verbatim transcript:
(Matthews in a sad, mournful, plaintive tone)
“Paul Butler, you’ve seen a lot of guys, you’ve been defending over the years, who faced serious time, I’m guessing. And when you’re facing, when you’re 67 years old, there must be some empathy from Melania Trump, if not from the President, for this guy, who really ushered them into politics. I’m just wondering if there is anyway he can’t…, given the fact that there might be some humanity in Trump, pardon this guy for being his henchmen. Because he wasn’t robbing gas stations, he was working for Trump.”
I’m not incorrect in summarizing his sad, pathetic, plea as a call for mercy and a pardon.

I can’t find anything about Roger Stone’s drug offenses, although I’ve seen vague references here and there. Does anyone have any actual facts about that?

All he had to do to avoid prison was flip and tell the truth. Even Manafort could have probably avoided prison by telling the truth. They chose to be in prison.

@J R in WV:
“it would seem like a maudlin, drunken sob story with nothing behind it.”
You got Matthews’s number down. That was exactly the tone he used. The drunk at the sports bar, maudlin in pleading for no suspension for one of the players on his local team.

@David ??Booooooo?? Koch:
You know what? Give me the guy robbing gas stations any day of the week. Stone may not be quite as evil as Manafort, but he’s a scumbag through and through.
hells littlest angel
@David ??Booooooo?? Koch: It was neither “a sad, pathetic plea” nor “a call for mercy and a pardon.” I thought it was weird — and stupid — speculation, but he didn’t “call for” Trump to do anything.

You know, I can’t really bag on someone’s child for coming out and defending them.

Did anyone else read Roger Cohen’s column in the FYNYT about the 78 year old Pharma exec who voted for Trump because he didn’t like the conniving Clintons and likes some of his policies (like – guess what – the tax cuts and “taking on China) but is really appalled with his tone and doesn’t want to vote for him again. But if the Democrats nominate Warren or Sanders, he’ll have to hold his nose and vote for Trump again. Cohen suggested that the Democrats have to consider his feelings when we choose a candidate. I will say that the comments were almost universally asking why?
Cohen is usually a fairly sensible guy, but why would he choose this example? I’ve forgiven relatives who voted for Trump in 2016, but only because they’ve seen the light. Supporting Trump now and even considering voting for him is an indication of a lack of intelligence and humanity. Unforgivable.

Hmmm. I just checked and, nope, no loss here. Checking with others, I come up empty…no loss there either. So, not only not a “huge loss,” it appears to be no loss at all. In fact, there seems to be a feeling that Stone spending the rest of his philosopher kingly life in prison would be a huge plus for decent people everywhere. No, it’s not a substitute for the joy and relief that would follow a lengthy prison sentence for Donald Trump, but it is good to see someone in the Trump crime syndicate paying some price for their criminality.
I smiled just a little when Carlson recognized that some of Trump’s pardons have gone to unworthy recipients. It would have been more accurate if “Tucks” [sic] Carlson had questioned whether any of Trump’s pardons have been justifiable.
