Racist birther Melania trump is loudly booed at an event in Baltimore. Music to my ears.pic.twitter.com/ils1GjgByo

It’s nice to see a new generation rediscover the simple pleasures of offline bullying https://t.co/aUlrWpJ11y

… Trump was addressing students at the B’More Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). The event was part of her “Be Best” initiative on issues affecting children, including bullying and the dangers of opioid use…
The first lady was met with boos when she walked onstage after her introduction. The audience remained noisy through most of her five-minute speech.
She was once again booed loudly when she finished her speech and walked offstage, according to reporters at the event and a live video (around the 5:30 mark)…
President Donald Trump came under fire earlier this year for a racist tirade against Baltimore in which he called it “a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess” where “no human being would want to live.”
He also criticized Rep. Elijah Cummings, who represented a large portion of the city prior to his death last month. This prompted the Baltimore Sun editorial board to refer to the president as “vermin” in a scorching editorial…
.@KateBennett_DC's pool report: "As the press pooler with perhaps the most FLOTUS event coverage under my belt, I cannot recall another event where she was more negatively received. I believe it is also the first loud booing by an audience at a solo event with Mrs. Trump."

Jeez, an Einstein visa doesn’t carry as much weight as it used to. https://t.co/NzwnIXNJTr

No, I don’t think ‘we’ have to feel sorry for Mrs. Trump; this is an entirely cynical performance by someone who knew what she was signing up for when she negotiated her trophy-wife prenup. I don’t blame her for making the choices she’s made, but I also can’t pretend she was a dewy-eyed refugee who didn’t understand the contract, either.
Am I paranoid to think this was the goal of sending her into Baltimore? Nice little pre Thanksgiving meal for Fox to chew on. https://t.co/bxAQeC7EQW

Doesn’t take a political genius to manufacture “us and them” situations just to hammer home who “them” are.

“Children, online bullying and racism are bad, even if my husband is the world’s biggest online bully, and we are both Obama-hating racist trash. Now stop booing and yelling ‘birther bitch’.”

Yep, they knew she would get booed and Fox will whine about it 24/7 for months. Channeling the wonderful efg – fuck ’em.

She’s lucky they didn’t throw garbage at her.

I don’t really care, do you?

When all is said and done, if Team Good People ends up pulling the country through this, I want Melania deported. No way she deserved the Einstein Visa, and if Trump is in prison (PLEASE, IF FSM IS WILLING!) I want her removed from our shores.

Jeremy Barr’s tweet reads like an Oscar category:
…and the award for Best Booing By An Audience At A Solo Event With Mrs. Trump goes to…
THE CITY OF BALTIMORE!
Baud
@Mezz:
She never became a citizen?
tokyokie
@Baud: She’s a naturalized citizen, but there’s reason to believe that she lied on her application for permanent-resident status, and fraud on such documentation is grounds for revocation of citizenship and deportation.
Anne Laurie
@Mezz:
She’s the mother of an American citizen, who’s a minor. (I firmly believe ‘one child, to anchor my citizenship status & place in the family trusts’ was part of her pre-nup.) I am not an expert, but as I understand it, she can’t be deported now unless actual fraud can be demonstrated.
I personally will be just as happy to see Melania self-exiled to Monaco or some other European duchy with lax standards for ‘tax refugees.’ And so, I suspect, will Melania!
BlueDWarrior
Can’t wait for the inevitable howling from RW types about how the stupid youths are booing the best First Lady to have ever graced the White House (in their own deranged minds).
I would say more about what the Trump Family, or at least the older ones in the public eye, deserve, but I’d probably go spiraling into expletives and some scenarios that some would find off-putting to say the least.

Might I suggest the Grand Duchy of Fenwick?

May they both die penniless in the streets of NYC

@Anne Laurie:
It seems there is no actual photographic record of Melania’s claimed work as a supermodel, a job in which you spend all day having your picture taken. To conclude that she lied about her work, and so justify deporting her for immigration fraud, seems a bit of a leap; but her apparent lack of a model’s portfolio is suspicious.
NobodySpecial
@Amir Khalid: Lingerie models in my town don’t have portfolios either.

@Mezz: I’d be happy to just see her in prison too. I don’t assume she hasn’t committed crimes alongside her lovebird.

Look at the banner – even her stuff is done in Sharpie!

Well, Melania’s no Edith Wilson, just to totally-randomly pick another First Lady who made a lot of public appearances on behalf of her husband.
Albatrossity
She’s really rocking that Brownshirt look, though.
Barbara
@Amir Khalid: I assume that the modeling was, how shall I say, “aspirational,” and that if she did model it was in live shows and catalogs. There are some pictorial records of her extremely risque posing. She sues people who accuse her of having been an escort, but I don’t think it’s insulting or false to say that her modeling career was marginal. One wonders how she managed to get invited to high end parties. No way was she a super model, a class defined by name recognition that is high enough to capture the attention of people not in the fashion industry — Kate Upton, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, etc.
laura
She is vile filth and a garbage human being. And that’s how her husband treats her at every opportunity- most notably at the swearing in ceremony.
A wasted life. Zero value added.
Regarding her modeling career, Trump had a modeling agency and one of Jeffrey Epstein’s procurers had a modeling agency. Lots of young women trafficked and not a one ended up with a modeling career. I believe that’s the kind of model Mrs. Trump is.
Good on the youth of Baltimore for calling out the monster in their midst.
Neldob
I imagine there is more than one American oligarch that now wants more safe spaces.

@Mezz:
They have deported people who served in the military very honorably and think it’s great. This bimbo gets an arranged marriage with a supposed rich asshole and receives a visa she in no way deserves? I don’t mind as much that she has a visa, but her’s is supposed to be for a specific reason, and there is no way she could earn that. She is eminently unqualified. Of course she is married to someone extremely unqualified to be considered human.

@BlueDWarrior:
Oh, now, come on! Really !!
You haven’t been here much if you think expletives and spiraling into scenarios would be thought off-putting around here! This is Balloon Juice, my friend, where we have put months of effort into removing a filter for nasty words like — well, I’m not sure which ones are now authorized by upper management, but I’m sure FUCK is still OK… not positive about Pu55y, tho.
columbusqueen
@Ruckus: Preach it, brother. I honestly can’t think of another presidential wife who deserves the labels of bimbo & whore more than Melania.
Uncle Cosmo
I am not sure which jurisdictions sent students to this “summit”; I suspect it was limited to the Baltimore area, and that the largely nonwhite City public schools were heavily represented, whence the booing. However it should be noted that it was held at the University of Maryland – Baltimore County campus, which is in Catonsville, a suburb several miles southwest of the Baltimore City line. Baltimore City and Baltimore County are separate jurisdictions on the level immediately below the State of Maryland itself.
This is important because the primary reason for the City’s woes is that it has no access to funding other than taxes on its residents and whatever the State provides in aid. It is entirely possible – indeed almost a tradition – that any City resident moving up economically moves out of the CIty as soon as possible in order to enjoy the lower tax rates and better public infrastructure in the surrounding counties (Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Harford, Howard, Carroll). These good folks are happy to come into town to use its facilities & cheer for its sports teams (go Ravens!) but are equally happy to leave the City with its declining tax base to take care of the poverty, drugs, crime & crumbling infrastructure concentrated therein.
I have owned a small home in the City for >30 years. Our property tax and auto insurance rates are double what they are in Baltimore County, our water bills are 5x as large (in order to replace water & sewer lines per Federal order), our roads & bridges (under City maintenance) are a disaster, our schools are underfunded, undersupplied & underperforming.
The rich suburban counties surrounding Baltimore and DC, even though they are largely Democratic by party registration and run by Democrats, want nothing to do with the City’s woes & will not give us a penny if they can help it. Were it not for our notable institutions (the Inner Harbor, the stadiums at Camden Yards, the Walters Art Gallery, Little Italy’s restaurants, the Baltimore Symphony & its downtown home, Johns Hopkins, etc.) – which they can enjoy & then retreat to their suburban castles – they’d be happy to build a wall along the city line & set up checkpoints to keep us all inside.
The last time the City caught a political break was during DC transplant & former Mayor of Baltimore Martin O’Malley’s two terms as Governor. Because of the peculiarities of MD politics we are not likely to see that again in my lifetime. Why? Because gubernatorial nominations are largely determined by the African-American populations of the City and Prince Georges County – in the last primary two AA candidates took nearly 70% of the vote – but white Democrats across the state come out in the general election in large numbers to support GOP nominees over Democratic candidates of color.
How do I know this? I grew up in Dundalk, a working-class DINO suburb just southeast of the City, went to college here, & got my masters at UMBC. I’ve lived in the City since 1980 & bought my modest row home here from a couple who quite literally then bought an equivalent house less than a quarter mile outside the City limits so their children could attend Baltimore County schools rather than pay for private schooling. I’ve been active in state & local politics since 1970; former governor O’Malley is a personal friend of decades’ standing. I’m telling yinz all this so that you might better understand our dilemma.
stinger
Not a fan of booing politicians’ spouses, as a rule — but I’d make an exception here. I’d boo the bad grammar of “Be Best”, if nothing else.
And photos of her — ALL of her — are available on the internet. NEVER thought I’d live to see a nude model as First Lady. Just one of the too-many-to-count horrors of this presidency.
