Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Republicans choose power over democracy, every day.

I see no possible difficulties whatsoever with this fool-proof plan.

Wow, you are pre-disappointed. How surprising.

… riddled with inexplicable and elementary errors of law and fact

Republicans seem to think life begins at the candlelight dinner the night before.

They fucked up the fucking up of the fuckup!

Let’s finish the job.

🎶 Those boots were made for mockin’ 🎵

Technically true, but collectively nonsense

We are builders in a constant struggle with destroyers. let’s win this.

Not so fun when the rabbit gets the gun, is it?

A last alliance of elves and men. also pet photos.

I know this must be bad for Joe Biden, I just don’t know how.

It’s easy to sit in safety and prescribe what other people should be doing.

We are aware of all internet traditions.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Fuck the extremist election deniers. What’s money for if not for keeping them out of office?

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

Optimism opens the door to great things.

Come on, media. you have one job. start doing it.

Schmidt just says fuck it, opens a tea shop.

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

Historically it was a little unusual for the president to be an incoherent babbling moron.

So it was an October Surprise A Day, like an Advent calendar but for crime.

It’s that time again, people! If you look to the *upper right hand corner, you will notice a link to “Pet Calendar Info.” Click on that, and let’s get those pictures rolling in!

*The upper right hand corner is where you find the link to “Pet Calendar Info” if you are on a computer or on a tablet in landscape mode.  On a phone or on a tablet in portrait mode, you will find “Pet Calendar Info” under the 3 horizontal lines, aka the hamburger.

    What’s the deadline for the pet pictures, John? Also, I looked at the info and I didn’t understand what email address we’re supposed to use

    @Goku (aka Amerikan Baka):

    Q. What email address do I use for sending the pet photos?
    A. Send email to pet-calendar at balloon-juice.com (in the usual format for email addresses). ETA: substitute @ for at.

    @Goku (aka Amerikan Baka):  From the link at the upper right:

    Q. What’s the deadline for sending photos?
    A. Your photos must be submitted by this coming Monday, Dec 9, but it’s even better if you can submit your photos by this Friday, Dec 6.

    @WaterGirl:
    Thanks! Trying to do a million things at once, I guess I missed that. I was afraid the deadline was tonight or something silly like that.

    Also, in case I haven’t said this before, thank you for your part in the work on the new website. It works much better now

    O/T, but a photographer whose day job was a janitor at a Border Patrol station kept personal belongings confiscated from immigrants and thrown away. He started making compositions and now he has a show:

    ‘El Sueño Americano | The American Dream: Photographs by Tom Kiefer’
    Where: Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Los Angeles

    When: Noon-5 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, 10-5 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays, through March 8

    Admission: $7-$12 (free on Thursdays)

    Info: http://www.skirball.org

    You can see some of them in this LA Times article. They are just haunting.

    Morning.  I had sent in a bunch of pet photos earlier in the year.  Does it make sense to send again (due to the site rebuild) or do you think we’re OK? Thanks!

    @daize: @cliosfanboy:

    Q. What if I sent my 2020 calendar photos in earlier this year?
    A. If you sent calendar photos earlier this year, please send them again.

    Beth does not have those photos.  They would have been sent to an email address that most likely doesn’t exist anymore because it was related to the old site.  So unless someone was checking that account and saving the photos in an organized fashion, you will need to submit your photos again.  Hopefully you can go back to your “sent” mail and simply re-send the original message, this time to the address that is posted in the info that’s in the box at the top right.
