Rattling the Cup for Server Costs

As you know, we moved to a different hosting company and now have significantly larger hosting costs for the server. Additionally, we went basically a month without any ad revenue because we took a week or so off, put ads up for two days, then got denied because we are a bunch of foul mouthed heathens, then a few weeks later got ads up from an ad company with standards more in line with ours. As such, there was a significant decline in revenue for the past five weeks (read, basically none). The server is paid through the 1st of January, but then we will owe another payment.

Several of you have signed up for recurring monthly donations, and that adds up to about 75 bucks a month, but we are still well short of costs. So, if you can, and only if you can, please consider hitting the paypal link to the right.

Thank you!

OOOH YEAH! I went to the PO Box today and there was a nice package of dog treats for the doggos from one of you generous bastards, as well as a bunch of damned fine looking jams and jellies from Alain! Thank you!

    Done.

Part of my donation was earmarked for Steve treats, and he is going to cut you if you don’t deliver.

Done, and hope it can be more before long.

I do like the idea of siphoning off a bit for treats for the menagerie.

Ugh.  I’m so broke until my next paycheck – next week.   I do have quite a yarn stash built up so if anyone wants a hand knit item, I’ll make it for you free and you can donate to John.

I can chip in a little something next week.

I just donated a little. I can’t do much at any one time, but I will gladly donate multiple small amounts. I’m going to put a note in my planner to donate a small amount monthly beginning in early January.

    @John Cole:

Individual page views or by identified user? If the former, I’ll need to multiply my donation by (1 + R), where R is the rate at which I obsessively check for new posts in a given hour :)

@thruppence:I didn’t need to set up a paypal account. Just went through the donation button on the front page and used the option to allow me to charge it to my credit card. I think that should work for just about anyone.

Also, my donation was earlier in Dec. Will take a look at my budget in 2020 & see if I can add a small monthly donation sometime after the new year.

I’ll be glad to chip in quarterly but don’t have a PayPal account.  If you’ll email me another way to get money to you, like checks, I’ll be happy to send some your way.

Also too, I’m a quilter and often have small quilted things I can send along with the cash. I do love this blog.  And, though, I don’t comment very often it’s the first place I look at in the morning and the last at night.

And of course the hosting service to be the final destination for the money went belly up yet again while the new thread smell was still present.

They do seem to have the “hosting” part of the equation down pat. The “service” part, not so much. Track record since the rollout not one to inspire confidence.

@AndoChronic: Merlin at present is stretched out over my left foot for the second time today. There have been almost daily lap visits, a little tricky due to my arthritis, but then I lift him up against my collar bone and he settles for a bit. Last night was his first bedtime visit, maybe 2 minutes at the most, but it’s started. He is a lovely sweet boy.
