Has everyone ordered their Pets of Balloon Juice 2020 Calendar?  (I don’t think so!)

I fell half in love with some of the guys in the calendar –  just from seeing their pictures while I proofed the calendar for Beth.  (Who did all the real work.)

Kira won the coveted WaterGirl Really Wants to Take Her Home Award.

Marty and Hissy Kitty look like their parents caught them fooling around and turned on the lights.  Uh oh.

And the names.  So fun!

· Betty White · Noodles · Oscar · Mozart · Blizzard · Vivian · Bean · Lightning · Monet · Bubba · Wallace ·
· Kira · Janeway · Soul Dog · Bruiser · Pablo · Espresso Bean, Queen of Concord · General Stuck’s Charlie ·

Have any of you received your calendars yet?

What do you think of the addition of the In Memoriam quotes this year?  What were your favorite quotes?  Did they bring back any blog memories?

Great Names, Great Pics, Great Quotes

Got mine today. It’s very well done. Recommended.

Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Mine came yesterday (one for me, one for a friend). I love it! The Stuck quotations are great.

I don’t think it’s a big problem that I missed January. I always study and pore over all the pictures anyway, so the cute January critters are not going unnoticed.

Mine’s due next week. I’m excited to see what the In Memoriam looks like.

It was funny that Cafe Press took just year’s photos and printed 2020 calendars with them. I’ve had a current calendar all year and the photos are just as good the second time.

    ETA:

    And the names.

Welp, I guess I should have put the full name (Hamper’s White Lightning) in there.

Wait, what?  Are you the person that recently ordered the 2019 calendar?  I noticed when I clicked on previous years that it changed the dates to the current year.

    Waiting for mine.
Did they really reuse the photos from last year???? I though Beth was putting it together with photos submitted recently.
I’m pretty sure the Pablo on the lower left in January is new. Will look for Jackie when it comes.

@pat: IF someone ordered the 2019 calendar, it came with last year’s photos but 2020 dates.  I’m thinking that HinTN might have done that.

The pictures for the *real* 2020 calendar are definitely new.

And yes, Pablo is a 2020 picture.

Thanks to balloon juice humans, the 5-month-old adventure kitty Finn travelled over 1000 miles from MN last April and landed on the September page.  He’s hanging upside down and a year old in his picture.  A wooden ladder turns out to be his favorite climbing tree/gym/perspective.

Mine is coming next week. At least the receipt says it is. We have these systems of delivery, and when you live in an apt they don’t always work great for anything other than letters and even then sometimes there are problems. The mailboxes where I live got broken into, someone pried open the back doors the mail person uses to fill up the boxes. I can’t believe no one at least heard them. Now for anything bigger than an envelope they get left at your doorstep. Not the best system, IMO. But how to fix that in our modern society? Maybe make it a bit better for people at the bottom so they can get a job that pays something livable? That certainly wouldn’t make it any worse.

That’s funny because she has so much fur around her neck that we call it her ruff.  She doesn’t speak in Elizabethan English, though.  More Liz Taylor in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Anyone else give their dogs accents?

That sounds like Jackie, in November.  Belongs to friends of ours and when they come to dinner (in Austria) Jackie is always welcome.

Said this before but my nickname for Bud was Ornery Bastard.

He was a great companion for one person – if he liked you. He was a rescue and older. Once he attached himself I was OK. There were rules of course, his rules, I was just there to feed him and put up with him. He and I got along just fine and I’ve missed him like no other pet ever. Maybe because he had such a personality. He lived with me during some of my worst days on this rock and that was a miracle that helped me get through them.

Oh I get that.  My old lab was that for me.  He got me through the worst times – rug pulled out from under me times- and just the routine of his feeding and walking kept me going.  He was a sweetheart, the easiest dog ever.  This dog has so much personality.  She talks FFS. She knows what she wants and takes it.  I aspire to be more like her.

I can see where you got that, but NO.  Any old calendar (and we have them on the shop going back to 2011) can still be ordered, with the original photos but with 2020 dates.

HinTN said he got antsy and ordered the 2019 calendar with 2020 dates.

Not to worry, if you choose the 2020 calendar link, you will get the new pet pics for this year.

edit: i just searched the Cafe Press reports page for “juice 2019” to confirm that everyone ordered the 2020 calendar.  It turns out that jeffreyw ordered the 2019 calendar; I will check with him to make sure that was intentional.  That was the only match for “juice 2019” in the Cafe Press Jan 2020 purchases, so everyone else is good.

Kira won the coveted WaterGirl Really Wants to Take Her Home Award.

She’s now almost three times the weight she was in the calendar pick. And full of challenging puppy energy. She has certainly worn out her welcome with her animal siblings. But also in training and taking to it pretty well.
