Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

Do we throw up our hands or do we roll up our sleeves? (hint, door #2)

They think we are photo bombing their nice little lives.

They punch you in the face and then start crying because their fist hurts.

You passed on an opportunity to be offended? What are you even doing here?

Shut up, hissy kitty!

Seems like a complicated subject, have you tried yelling at it?

We cannot abandon the truth and remain a free nation.

Of course you can have champagne before noon. That’s why orange juice was invented.

Teach a man to fish, and he’ll sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

This country desperately needs a functioning fourth estate.

Too often we confuse noise with substance. too often we confuse setbacks with defeat.

I might just take the rest of the day off and do even more nothing than usual.

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

I did not have this on my fuck 2025 bingo card.

Boeing: repeatedly making the case for high speed rail.

When they say they are pro-life, they do not mean yours.

There are a lot more evil idiots than evil geniuses.

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

75% of people clapping liked the show!

It may be funny to you motherfucker, but it’s not funny to me.

When I was faster i was always behind.

You can’t attract Republican voters. You can only out organize them.

A norm that restrains only one side really is not a norm – it is a trap.

Seattle Meet-Up Reminder: SUNDAY, February 16

by Anne Laurie|  February 14, 20202:28 pm| 28 Comments

This post is in: Election 2020, Meetups, Readership Capture

FacebookTweetEmail

Note from ace party-planner CaseyL:

The Seattle GOTV Postcard Meetup is this Sunday Feb 16 at 12:30, at the Elliott Bay Brewery in Lake City.

Would it be possible for you to post a reminder about it?

There was talk, when this was announced, of doing simultaneous postcard-writing meetups in other cities. This would be a good place to leave a comment, if you’d like to arrange one of those meetups!

If I wasn’t watching the dogs for my parents, I ALMOST could have gotten away with going. Dammit!

I want to take this opportunity to remind people that all the details about the meetup are under Balloon Juice Meetups under Calling All Jackals in the sidebar.  (In the hamburger on mobile.)

Here’s the link in case anyone is feeling lazy.

    For all Florida BJ’ers.

City of Bartow is hosting a street fair SyFy for science fiction/fantasy/comic book fans this Saturday February 15th.

There should be at least one Jedi Librarian selling books for the local library’s Friends group.

    A little off-topic:

A while back, someone said they and their spouse were driving through Ohio sometime during the summer, and the consensus on the thread was, Great! We’ll have an Ohio-wide meet-up in Columbus when you’re here!

Does anyone remember who it was who will be driving through Ohio? Because that is essential info for me to do any planning.

@CaseyL:  Two border collies, two mini Dachshunds, none leash trained? That won’t go well LMAO. Ah well. It’s most likely I’ll be over some time in March although that’s not set in stone.

CaseyL and I are bringing the writing supplies to the meetup. I just received the addresses… and we’re going to be writing to Florida! FL jackals, it’s an honor to help flip your state to blue.

We’ll have a laptop or two on hand, for looking up info on the PtoV website; feel free to bring your own as well.

If anyone wants to write solo, from other parts of the planet, here’s the link at which you can find sign-up info and FAQ:

    http://PostcardsToVoters.org

FYI, I am in love with whoever wrote their FAQ. It is so *methodical*.  :-)

Looking forward to socializing and writing with y’all on Sunday….

Hee hee! Well… there’s a pot for every lid, right? :) And when I’m tackling a complex project with many moving parts, methodical is exactly what I’m looking for.
