It pretty well drowned out ‘news’ of the Oval Office Squatter’s latest round of California gold-digging. Himself is very upset about this slight! The never-very-secure hinges, they are slipping!
If you wrote a script where a fictional, media-obsessed US President stumbles down a path of babbling madness while tilting at literal windmills, the ghost of Orson Wells would appear and stab you in the neck. pic.twitter.com/krknBqcnH2

Trump — and worse, Trump Jr. — video clips below the fold. Can’t say you weren’t warned…
You have to admit bashing a foreign film and extolling a movie that valorized the Confederacy is on brand for Trump. https://t.co/41h7gI5NHr https://t.co/uZjHkwJBDA

Also, I’m afraid Junior — d/b/a as ‘the Heir Apparent’ (according to his Fox-News-trained side piece) — is back on the sauce.
This is an actual quote https://t.co/35NHLPsoDZ

In fact, he looks more and more like Uday every day (photo)

Millions of years of evolution? Doesn’t Uday know the Earth is only supposed to be 6000 years old and everything was created by Big Sky Daddy?

@NotMax: Please pad your desk STAT!

The extended Trump windmill bit is really just a more incoherent version of almost any conservative anti-environmentalism rant. They latch onto some long that may have been true years ago (“economy cars are underpowered slowpokes”) and plug their ears against any evidence it’s not true, because it’s all just BS-ing, not an actual argument or attempt to engage with reality.
Mart
Wind turbine blades are made from fiberglass, so he is correct? Of course once cured, they stop emitting fumes unlike Trump.
Duane
@NotMax: It more efficient if you’ll pick up the desk and drop it on your head. Desk/head… once should do it.
Mart
@Redshift: Yes, love how they and Trump cling to the newfangled light bulbs cost more than incandescent, even though LED’s are now just as cheap(er) at purchase, consume 1/6 of the power, and last 7 times longer. Also low gpm toilets won’t flush giant Trumpian turds when Kohler solved that with computer modeling and Japanese turd molds about three decades ago.
John Revolta
Crowd behind Jr. look like they’re really thrilled by his magnetic stage presence….

The windmill thing isn’t a GOP talking point for the Shiatgibbon, it’s a personal grudge; they wanted to build a offshore windmill complex near his Scottish golfcourse and he felt it ruined the view.

We live in a country where 35% of the voting public wants to burn the house down out of pure spite, and another 10-13% want to cheer them on.
mrmoshpotato
@NotMax: Exactly!
Has anyone checked lately to see if Hillary’s eyes have popped out of her head and her jaw fell off of her face, because holy shit! I can’t imagine what she’s thinking watching this Soviet shitshow.
mrmoshpotato
@Mart: Everyone knows the blades are made out in the open by constantly farting commie cows.
(I love how it’s “windmill blade manufacture bad! farting cows good, you soy boys!”)
NotMax
@mrmoshpotato
Windmills eat up all the wind, so Old Glory will no longer wave.
//
mrmoshpotato
@NotMax: Yup. There’s a limited amount of wind. Now, the amount of hot air…

My dad has dementia. We have him in a nursing home memory ward. And my family has a lot less money than the Trumps. Would be nice if those orange twerps were a bit more civic minded.
?BillinGlendaleCA
So the sound that the windmills make doesn’t cause cancer now? That takes a load off my mind when I drive to Joshua Tree or Red Rock.
gene108
I understand Trump’s hatred of the environment, because nature takes attention away from Trump. I don’t get the rest of Republicans. There must be enough people voting Republican, who like to hunt, fish, go hiking, and/or camping that destroying natural settings, in order to “own the libs” will have negative consequences for them. But they don’t want to admit it.
Anne Laurie
I think a lot of them prefer to believe that ‘it won’t actually happen’ or ‘it isn’t that bad, considering.’
But there’s also a sizeable chunk who think that they’ll be able to “gate off” enough of the territory that interests them (the ‘best’ communities, the ‘worthwhile’ tourist spots, the ‘best’ fishing/hunting/camping preserves) — and who cares about the rest of us luzers?
It’s a subset of the ‘Leopards Eating Peoples’ Faces’ party… surely the pollution, habitat loss, et al won’t affect their lives, for reasons.
MagdaInBlack
@gene108:
These are the same trumpkins who are surprised when their neighbor or friend or spouse get deported.
It never occurs to them it could happen to their favorite hunting/fishing/camping spot. Or their water.

C’mon AL, you’ve lived in Taxachusetts long enough that you should use the locally-approved spelling/pronunciation: LOO-ZAHS! [Also accepted: LOOOO-ZAHS.]
Matt McIrvin
@Mart: Never fear, I speak conservative troll and can translate Trump.
Every technology has some environmental impact associated with its production. Taking that into account (along with end-of-life disposal) is called a lifecycle analysis. A lifecycle analysis of wind-turbine production would surely show some carbon emissions and other environmental costs of production.
In the world of conservative trolls, a lifecycle analysis of every “green” technology ironically shows it to be worse than a thousand smoke-belching coal plants and a million Hummers, because the libs are always wrong and furthermore suck it libs. No actual data are necessary for this conclusion and none are generally provided, though once in a while some actual source comes out claiming something like this about, say, the early-model Prius and gets passed around with associated chortling for decades.
SFAW
@Matt McIrvin:
It’s almost as if Dunning-Kruger needs to be modified to address an entire demographic, not just a few (so to speak) random RWMFs. Sort of like how Daneel developed the Zeroth Law of Robotics
ETA: General comment re: lifecycle analysis. Back when I used to do product development, it was amazing how few people paid attention to that stuff, and how few knew how to attempt to calculate lifecycle cost. [“Attempt to,” because some data were nigh-on impossible to estimate or calculate without extensive research.]
jonas
@Geoduck: *Everything* Trump does is a function of his personal grudges. Also, I was just reading the other day (WaPo or FTFNYT, I forget) about how all these farmers in Kansas are saving their farms by leasing land to energy companies to put up windmills. Nice little revenue stream. Wonder how they feel about Trump’s tirades against windmills? Probably: “Har! That Trump sure is wacky! Let me vote for him twice.”
Dupe1970
@David ??Merry Christmas?? Koch: Somebody needs to do a transition morph of Jr to Uday and back again

Junior also seems to have inherited the bizarre hand gestures.
