They totally do not care that I am trying to clean and water the plants:
And I sneaked a picture of Rosie in:
It’s just so weird living with a dog for ten years who doesn’t like you.

She may not like you, Cole. But I know she loves you for taking care of her. When her previous owners abandoned her, you were there. She knew at that point that you were the one for her when she leaped into your seat.
Plain Dave
How can she like you if you’re insufficiently submissive? She has needs you know.

Not a pet, but animal related, I drove up to the Owens Valley today, I saw a beaver crossing the highway. I didn’t know they had beavers up there.

@?BillinGlendaleCA: Once a beaver showed up at this swimming pond on an island where I used to work, and began taking down the birch trees. No one had any idea how s/he got there (unless brought by someone?) ave the remaining trees s/he was trapped, put in a boat and dropped off on another island …

@Aleta: To save the remaining trees s/he was trapped, put in a boat and dropped off on another island …

Lily is my favorite John Cole pet.

To steal a line from an old Richard Pryor routine: “I’m in love with a bitch I can’t stand!!”

Focus, John, focus!

Trust me. It’s better than living with a human who doesn’t like you.

@?BillinGlendaleCA:
Do they still have the electronic signs on 395 telling outsiders explicitly to “GO HOME” lest they spread the Covid?

Does Rosie like anybody? Have you ever seen how she is with persons she likes?
I mean, maybe she likes you plenty, and being a bitch, so to speak, is her way of showing it.
NotMax
Uh huh. Could be the onus lies not on the mutt.

@CaseyL: Rosie loves John’s father, who doesn’t approve of all the cursing on the blog, so she’s snubbing John.

That’s an eclecric mix of pet personalities: the prim and ladylike Lily, the exuberant Thurston, the inperious Steve, and Rose who keeps to herself. I do think John Cole has the makings of a sitcom.

They are all adorable ??, Cole.

Thanks for the pet pics, Cole. Great to see your quartet.

If my felines at least stay out of the way while I’m trying to get shit done, I call that a win.
WaterGirl
I see part of Rosie. And of course Lily and Steve. Where are you guys seeing Thurston?
edit: Ah, I just stumbled on the first pet pic post that John wrote. Mystery solved.

@?BillinGlendaleCA: A few miles up the trail from Twin Lakes (near Bridgeport, past Mono Lake) is Barney Lake – I camped there one night, 30ish years ago at the beginning of a backpack trip. There was a beaver there plying its trade near the outlet of the lake. So that’s the closest I can come to confirmation of beavers in Owens Valley…

I really love those wood floors.
Another Scott
@Aleta: I saw a beaver in a neighbor’s yard a few blocks over (on the creek) a few years ago. I was astounded by how big it was. Must have been around 60-70 pounds or so. Big honking thing. Just munching away on something at twilight. Seeing them on TV it’s hard to get perspective on how big things are in real life.
And how much bigger they were in olden times.
Kinda like that looming willow tree…
Cheers,
Scott.
