Let’s raise some more money for Steve Bullock in Montana. This race is winnable — Bullock was governor before and polls show him tied or ahead.
With a Democratic Senate, there’s a lot that Biden can do. Let’s help make it happen. We only need three flips (or maybe four if Doug Jones loses) plus a Biden win.

We need a blue tsunami. Destroy this shit party that is the GOP – their conspiracy theories have gone off the walls – Beyonce is not even black now but a white french woman? Fuck me.

Thanks again Doug. Also some support for Mike Cooney for governor. His opponent is the charming Greg Gianforte of the body slam the reporter fame (shame)

Gotta say, I’d love to watch the Senatortoise lose power as age and infirmity further diminish his miserable existence.

From the ridiculous tweets I’ve seen from GOP congressional people we are in for another presidential campaign full of idiotic issues. Statutes, which party is more American, Democrats hate America, cancel culture (whatever that is suppose to mean depending on who is saying it). We have massive unemployment, bankrupt businesses and tens of thousands dead from a preventable epidemic. Add in an insane imbecile as president who wants a civil war. When will this nightmare be over.

Sure sounds like Republicans are listening to the people and offering a strong policy agenda to address their concerns… A true recipe for success! /s

I can’t find it now, but I saw a tweet early that one of the old school crystal ball outfits has moved Iowa to a toss-up, and looking for that tweet, it looks like the polls are pretty much tied there. I’d love to see Ernst and all her hokey ‘bread bags in my boots’ and ‘hog-castrating’ bullshit go down.

Here in the WA-3rd we are gearing up to finally beat Jaime Hererra Beutler who is the last GOP congress critter with a district that touches the Pacific Coast (outside of Alaska). Hoping this time we can finally do it. Vancouver has been trending more blue but the rural areas around here are still as red as rural Arkansas
It’s basically the only local race we have of interest other than state legislature. Everything else is blue.

She’s running against another farm woman candidate so that bullshit doesn’t fly quite so well this time around. Theresa Greenfield has deeper farm roots than Ernst.

Query: What does “C.R.E.A.M” stand for in this post’s heading description?
senyordave
@Jim, Foolish Literalist: I read that Ernst was interviewed by Martha Raddazt, and Raddatz brought up the fact that Ernst in 2014 said Obama showed a lack of leadership during the Ebola crisis, the one where TWO Americans died. Ernst went on to praise Trump’s leadership during this crisis. I hope someone pieces together an ad contrasting her reactions. Ernst always seemed like a bad joke, she seems well-suited to spend the rest of her life castrating pigs.

I think Doug Jones has a chance at winning. We should do him too. Might be a slim chance but still, he’s a good guy especially considering the opposition party.

We’ve already got Bullock in our monthly contribution lineup, but I kicked in a donation from my personal account. I love the idea of 2 Democratic Senators from theoretically red Montana!
I’ve been feeling pretty hopeful about the senate for awhile. Hickenlooper is beating Gardner in CO, Kelly is trouncing McSally in AZ, Cunningham is doing well against the unpopular Tillis in North Carolina, and Gideon has a comfortable lead on Collins in Maine. On top of that, there are any number of races that are competitive: 2 races in GA, Ernst’s race in IA, the aforementioned MT race, and even SC and, dare we hope, KS and KY. OK, Kentucky may be a pipe dream. This is the kind of year Doug Jones may be able to hold on to his seat. At any rate, I’m comfortable we’ll pick up at least 4 seats.

@Renie:
If the Republicans knew they could win on the issues, they’d be talking about them. That they’re spending all their time talking about statues and cancel culture instead of COVID is a sign they know they’re losing.

@kindness: It will be a better shot if Tuberville wins the primary. His whole résumé is being the football coach for Auburn. That’s it. Jones could easily point out his political naïveté. But there won’t be much time for either of them. The only advantage he would have against the KKKebler Elf is that Dolt45 won’t support him. Otherwise Sessions would probably cream Jones.

@kindness: Here’s the current Senate race ratings from Cook Political.
Because of the predicted trajectory of Covid-19 case growth between now and the election, I’d argue any race on that list that is not currently in the Solid R category is flippable. Remember, as long as the pandemic is raging our economy is going to flounder badly. That will affect just about everyone not in the 1%. We just need to work our asses off and get as many people as possible registered & out to vote in Nov.

Since my vote means little – extreme blue state (so Pres vote means nothing) but I’m in the ONLY super red district so donating is my only real why to have a positive effect on the election.

well the last time… it worked. Ask Mike Dukakis.
With any luck it IS different this time.

@Goku (aka Amerikan Baka): Honestly, just screw all of them, except Romney, for not voting to convict Trump when they had the chance. I’m just glad it looks like a lot of them will be following him out the door in Nov.

We’re in on Montana. Dear friends recently moved there after one got a dream job up there. Would be all in anyway, of course, because we have to win the Senate. We’re on monthly donations in SC to beat Lindsay Graham, Mark Kelly in AZ, where we have a tiny winter camp, supporting folks we helped win in 2018 too, like Xochitl in NM.
We’re essentially trapped on our farm (think steep wooded hillsides in SW WVa) for the duration of the pandemic, and one thing we can do to feel better about the political situation is to contribute to candidates in Red/Purple states. TX, AZ, Iowa, Maine, South Carolina, even WV.
Yutsano
I don’t know if this will be a pick-up, but Peter IRA King’s district has a pretty solid Democratic candidate. I didn’t know Peter was hanging up his shoes. But being in the minority is never fun, especially in the House.

What they want is not really all that different, only by slight degree, it’s just how they go about getting there.
Renie
@Yutsano: I live in King’s district and for years we’ve been waiting to get rid of him but there is a sold GOP base here unfortunately. I do think Jackie Gordon has a shot at it. Her GOP opponent is an unknown just like her so it will be whomever gets the votes out. Interesting thing about King, it was always assumed he was grooming his daughter for his seat as she jumped in and got herself elected to local townships seat. But she just left for NC and now he is retiring and going there also. Assumption is she is setting herself to get elected for something down there.

@KayInMD (formerly Kay (not the front-pager)): The Texas race for John Cornyn’s seat could be quite a story this year. M.J. (short for Mary Jane) Hegar is favored to win a runoff against veteran state legislator Royce West. Like Amy McGrath, Hegar is a combat pilot who lost a close congressional race in 2018, in a district more red than the state. But while McGrath seems somewhat unsure as a politician, Hegar may be a natural. She has a compelling life story, and projects a cheerful toughness. Her introductory Senate video is a blast. In a poll last fall, 33% of Texas voters expressed approval of Cornyn, 33% disapproval, and 33% had no opinion. Not good numbers for an incumbent. And Hegar is a woman. I think there has been an insider/outsider dynamic going on that works against insiders. Although women are a majority, they are still outsiders when it comes to politics.

This guy is running against Tom Cotton as an ‘independent progressive.’ I don’t know anything about the guy. Anybody on BJ know something? I know the chances of him winning are slim. He’s not running as a Democrat but as an independent. I don’t even know if it’s worth throwing money at him. There’s just a tiny chance that he may be a lucky ‘right person at the right time’ kind of candidate not unlike Doug Jones.
