Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

A Jones for this, a Jones for that

Polls are showing a tight race for Doug Jones in Alabama this fall. He’s an underdog to be sure, but it’s closer than I might have guessed. Both the Republican likely nominees, Sessions and Tuberville have some real weaknesses.

Let’s hit 5K for Doug Jones to kick off the weekend.

I’m still hoping that it’s Tuberville but if Sessions somehow pulls it off it’s an easier race for Jones. I still think he’s a better shot against Tuberville but either way we can still fight here. Jones was behind in all the polling last time. And I didn’t look at the crosstabs but I would bet they way underpolled minority populations in the state.

Yellowhammer News is good source for local reporting on the Alabama Senate race, as well as other Alabama political and general news.             The site is named after the Alabama state bird, a flicker that is kind of like a yellow woodpecker that hunts bugs on the ground as well as in trees. “Yellowhammer” is a nickname for Alabamans, like Hoosier is for natives of Indiana.

The biggest ones that they are both lying assholes. Sessions beats Tubervilles, you can expect Trump to continue to blast him. So Doug Jones has a fighting chance.  He also has been a pretty good senator and is certainly as liberal and progressive as one could expect from Alabama.

Certainly as liberal and progressive as one could ever hope for from Alabama.

    Jones has been  good Senator.

Can we pick 10 Senate Seats and 10 Freshmen Congressfolk that we want to support here?

    Senate:

    MAINE

    KENTUCKY

    BOTH GEORGIA SEATS

    ARIZONA

    TEXAS

    COLORADO

    MONTANA

    NORTH CAROLINA

    IOWA

NOT ONE of these muthaphuckas deserves to be re-elected.

    House

    Underwood (IL)

    McBath (GA)

I am open for 8 other suggestions

@rikyrah: Xochitl Torres-Small has a tough race in southern New Mexico. Like Lucy McBath’s race, it’s a rematch.

@rikyrah: Cameron Webb is a 36 year old doctor and former Obama White House Fellow who is running for congress in the Va. 5th district. I think Webb has a good chance. He is a good campaigner and easily beat 3 decent candidates in the primary. His opponent is one one of jerry fallwell jr.’s henchmen at Liberty University. The dems lost the district by 6 points in 2018 with a candidate not nearly as good as Webb.

OK, I did one more for him cuz he is in fact a good Senator. Now some of the rest of you do the same so we can get to Doug’s goal.

Alabamian here. Thanks for this, Doug. Sen. Jones has been solid, as many of us hoped he would be. I would say to anyone who is ready to write him off because “Ala-fucking-bama, amirite”, I say “Now hold on thar!”

I feel you’re in for a (pleasant) surprise.

A Jones for this and a Jones for that, but what if there’s a Jackson in your house?
(Sorry for being off topic, it’s my thing today, and that’s just what the title made me think of – I hope the races go our way, of course.)

I give the Jones campaign $100 a month. As an Alabamian, allow me to chime in that Tuberville is definitely the weaker candidate against Jones. He is not from here. He was a terrible coach who left teams in the lurch over and over. We don’t know who paid him to come up here and run for this spot. Sessions is actually more “mainstream” and was a Senator himself. It will be a tough race but Doug definitely can win.
