Kitchen humor.

I had no idea so many different kinds of creatures were so fond of watermelon! Adorable videos.

@SiubhanDuinne: You haven’t met my dogs. They love watermelon.

@dexwood:
I know, but dolphins? Eatanters?

Horse hide sorbet.
I’m thinking that may not catch on among humans.

@oldster
Might already be available in Japan. They have some weird ass ice cream flavors over there.

It’s a beautiful sunny 75 degree weather here today .. absolutely perfect.
At a beer place in a warehouse area, outside a perfect place to be with people discipled in social distancing and wearing masks!

@SiubhanDuinne: Their seed spitting contests are epic.

After a hot walk, I put ice cubes in my doggo’s water bowl. He delicately fishes them out, jauntily carries them onto the couch, and cronches them all over the place. Then I get to sit in ice shavings and cool my butt off. Win/win!

It’s from Paul Bronks (the music, that is).

@NotMax: You aren’t kidding! They also have some great melon ice there.

Haha, that bird is all “Stab! Stab! Stab! Mmmmmmm”

@Mary G: All the facepalms. Zoo animals, dogs, cats, babies in utero. ?♂️

@Mary G:
That one goose there isn’t doing a great job of blending in.

@SiubhanDuinne: wonder if the dolphins use it more like a soccer ball than eat it.

Who doesn’t love watermelon?
Drove out to a local farm today and got a mass of awesomely fresh peaches and veggies (broccoli, baby beets, corn and a couple beefsteak tomatoes, which we don’t grow). Also stopped at my sister’s to shake her blueberry bush and got about a pint of those. Tomorrow I’m going to make a peach and blueberry gallete. I have a spatchcocked chicken on the grill and we’re having that with corn and some rice. Tomorrow, it’s Demonicos with those beefsteaks stuffed with breadcrumbs and Gruyere and roasted beets. I’ll probably make a pasta with the broccoli and leftover chicken next week. I do love a summer harvest.
Luciamia
@Benw: I’m taking that image with me into the evening. It’s almost a children’s book!

@Luciamia: FWIW whale rugby.

Watching the second video, I did not know you could put a rat on a leash. Then I found this article identifying them as African giant pouched rats. They can sniff out landmines and diseases. Apparently the ones at Point Defiance Zoo did not pass their certification test so they just hang out in their little harnesses at the zoo.
Omnes Omnibus
@Major Major Major Major: A furry Furry?
Major Major Major Major
@Omnes Omnibus: reminiscent of Rilakkuma, the adorable Japanese mascot who is a stuffed bear that dresses up as other things. He is always depicted with a zipper on his back; in one of the animated shorts (on Netflix, very cute diversion), he appears wake up and change into an outfit of himself.

@Major Major Major Major: God bless the person who created this and you for sharing it here.

I was going to make a joke about “hot” London weather, but it’s into the 90s there.
Actual hot.
Another Scott
@Mike G: In July 2015 we were fortunate enough to vacation a couple of weeks in Switzerland. During one of those horrible heat waves. It was 32C (90F) in Murten (at 1500′ on a lake) at 11 AM. It was warm enough on the Jungfraujoch that some people were hiking around on the glacier in short sleeves.
:-(
Cheers,
Scott.
Another Scott
@Another Scott: Actually, looking more closely at the picture of the thermometer, it was 33C (91.4F)!!
Cheers,
Scott.
WaterGirl
@Another Scott: At that point, maybe the thermometer should just show as RFH.
SWMBO
@Omnes Omnibus: That poor whale. It kept bringing back the dropped ball and the retarded human kept losing it.

@Major Major Major Major: My daughter had a couple of hamsters back in high school. They would get cross if they didn’t get their treats. And were vocal and appreciative when they did get them. Cute little buggers.

@Benw: I’ve heard that can lead to broken teeth, or is that just a myth?

I’ve put a couple of trays of ice into the bird bath when it’s a really bad day.
