Here’s a list of all the candidates and State and County Parties on ActBlue that Balloon Juice is raising money for so far this cycle below the fold. We’re at 1050K this cycle total (will update this about once a week) and 1550K total for our lifetime. I’ll update the goals on some of these as we go along since we’ve been blowing through them.

Thanks for doing this.

@Another Scott:
those are nominee funds
TaMara (HFG)
Thanks for doing this. Can’t be said enough.
But can we get a toddler photo? Purty please.
DougJ
@TaMara (HFG):
I’ll do one soon

I assume the Ossoff number includes his earlier House attempt?
DougJ
@dm:
no

@Baud:
damn, Baud. I think it would have been better if DougJ had run the Baud!2020 Super PAC

I’d suggest raising money for Tina Smith for Senate in Minnesota.
That race has tightened and in some models is now leaning Republican….it would be a big blow to lose that seat.
Cheryl Rofer
This is amazing. Thanks, DougJ, and thanks to everyone who contributes.
SiubhanDuinne
Very impressive. Jackals are good people.
BigJimSlade
Are there recommended organizations for efforts to register people (especially in places where voter purges are happening) and ‘get out the vote’ efforts?
PJ
Is there a correlation between day of the week or time of day when these fundraising posts are made and the amounts raised?
Jesse
I’m all in. Thanks DougJ.
If you can, please set up something for Tina Smith.
Haroldo
Thanks for putting this together, Doug.
H.E.Wolf
Thank you for getting involved in voter registration and GOTV, and for the reminder that this is something that’s feasible to do!
A couple of standbys are the State Democratic Party (if you’re a Democrat) and the State or local League of Women Voters (a non-partisan group).
In our state, both of those organizations have pivoted to online work.
These days, both orgs. are online, so it’s easy to Google them and get in touch.
BruceFromOhio
I’d like to raise funds for ANTIFA!
Haha, j/k, antifa is not an organization.
This is brilliant, Arkon DougJ. If we were a right-wing PAC, we could be skimming it and swimming in it.
DougJ
@PJ:
Not really. It’s kind of unpredictable.
DougJ
@Jesse:
Cook still has it as Solid Democrat
EDIT: Some tight polls though so I’ll do it.

@DougJ: From DKos elections today:
Bolded is my emphasis. I don’t think we need to do MN Sen ahead of say MT or AK AL congressional races. Tina Smith has plenty of cash, especially compared to her opponent.
Link for Alyse Galvin AK-AL
Link for Kathleen Williams MT-AL
Anyways, my 2 cents.

@BigJimSlade:
https://fairfight.com/ Stacy Abrams’ organization
https://votolatino.org/ Probably critical for turning Texas purple ahead of the next congressional redistricting.
Jesse
@DougJ: Thanks.
Marcopolo
I just posted why I don’t think we should prioritize Tina Smith over some other candidates (at the end of July she had 6x her opponent’s cash) but it seems to have been clobbered into moderation for having too many links. Any chance of freeing it up?

These 2 organizations look great! Three cheers for the TX group. As a former TX resident, I can attest that it’s more Blue than it seems….

@H.E.Wolf, @lashonharangue: Thanks!

@trollhattan:
Ooh, I want one of those.

@BigJimSlade: those are good, and there are also other good ones on the What We Can Do list that’s in the sidebar under Election Action!

@WaterGirl: ?
Elizabelle
This is excellent, dougJ.
Will we be able to donate via this thread for the rest of the 2020 campaigns??
Paul W.
I think we would be doing a real disservice if we did not include Paula Jean in WV on this list and at least get $2k her way. She has just a good a chance as McGrath of flipping a deep red state, and she is a HELL of a better candidate. Also, John’s from WV so can’t believe he gives no love to her!
Take a look at her really powerful statements at about ending mountaintop removal, fighting the opined crisis, she isn’t afraid to call for medicare for all which the state frankly needs considering how often the miners and low income workers are completely abandoned by the state and the employers there.
She’s a Bernie fan, but that shouldn’t make this blog ignore her. Thanks in advance!
Elizabelle
In with two small donations to Cal Cunningham and Doug Jones, and will give again later.
PsiFighter37
@Paul W.: West By God Virginia is a lost cause. Maybe Cole can opine otherwise, but there’s no way that state is electing a Democrat statewide besides Manchin at this point, IMO, and even I would venture to guess that he will lose in 2024 if he runs for reelection.

@PsiFighter37: Well, I dunno. A lot can happen in 4 years, so I gotta believe they will come to their senses. But then, for all I know, you live there and know way better than I?
WaterGirl
@Elizabelle: I’m sure you will be able to click on the thermometers and donate. But I’m sure Doug will be adding more thero meters for more people, so unless he updates this thread every time he adds a new fundraiser, it won’t be the complete list.
lowtechcyclist
Thanks for doing this, Doug! I tend to start with the thought that I’m going to give $X this cycle, and then I think about how I’m gonna divvy that up among the candidates. (And then usually wind up giving more later on anyway, but still like to start with that thought.) So this is one-stop shopping for me, and Labor Day weekend will be a good time to make decisions and give.
Miss Bianca
Great work, DougJ! OK, I’m going to make a pitch for a fundraiser for CD3 in Colorado, the one where Diane Mitsch Bush is running against Q-Anon cultist and serial lawbreaker Loren Boebert, even if I am miffed that Mitsch Bush’s campaign keeps refusing to get back to my paper about doing an interview.
DougJ
@Elizabelle:
yes
Paul W.
@PsiFighter37: I mean, that seems pretty dumb to say considering Manchin already exists and that we are giving money to Doug Jones (who I love) and McGrath whose chances are just as low if not lower.
Hoping @DougJ hears my cry and at least gives a response! Otherwise I’ll keep reminding later, she had a really solid turnout and WV has had Dem Senators why more often than R’s.
J R in WV
We have contributed to Paula for Senate here in WV, running against one of the more vile and corrupt Republican Senators, Shelly Moore Capito, who learned how to be a corrupt pol from her dad, famously convicted former Gov Arch A Moore, Jr. Arch took his whole fam dammily (including all the in-laws) to Europe and except for using a card to buy the airline tix, the whole trip, everything, was paid for with a suitcase of cash Arch took with.
And knowing the Moore family, they didn’t attempt to do anything on the cheap. Only the best for Arch.
Shelly voted against bank regulation, and a week later her husband magically became a VP at Wells Fargo, the most “honest” bank around, hahaha. Just one example.

Thanks for all you do on this portion for BJ.
Everyone here has a lane, and you do yours fabulously. :)

@Paul W.: my mom was from West Virginia so I couldn’t resist donating to her.

I read the Texas post (I lived there from ’80-’95, in Houston, Ft Worth and finally Austin). It may be heading towards a ‘next Colorado’.
But I want to warn about a state that may be heading the other way. Minnesota is the only upper midwest state that has mostly held the line against Republicans. But there continue to be warning signs that we’re the next Wisconsin.
Which could be confusing, as WI elected Tony Evers, and has a GOP lege because of gerrymanders, not popular vote. But that’s exactly the warning! I feel like MN is ten years behind our neighbor to the east. They’re coming to terms with their footsie with the GOP, and may turn the corner.
It feels like MN is on the edge of having to go through the disease to realize how bad it sucks. Anyway, a thermometer for Quinn Nystrom (MN-8) or Dan Feehan would be great!
RaflW
@hitless: I’m definitely worried about Tina Smith. I think she’s a fine person and an accomplished technocrat.
But her campaign feels lackluster. And as Arizona has moved further and further from Republicans grasp this cycle, GOP money has moved here. Gah.
NickM
Where’s the totals of all our contributions? I’d like to see that too!
Nutmeg again (formerly MoxieM)
Fantastic, and you managed to kick my butt to donate some more. Good stuff. Thank you.

Donated to Senate races in AZ MT IA and KS.
I really like Al Gross’s ads. His bio is the epitome of Alaska: “We don’t give a damn how you do it Outside.”

Who are the 15? Any in the Buckeye State? I think Alaina Shearer in OH-12 has a good shot against lame, damp Troy Balderson.

I sent a little bit to Jaime Harrison. Fingers crossed.
