Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Well, whatever it is, it’s better than being a Republican.

Some judge needs to shut this circus down soon.

Hi god, it’s us. Thanks a heap, you’re having a great week and it’s only Thursday!

The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

Republicans: “Abortion is murder but you can take a bus to get one.” Easy peasy.

Be a wild strawberry.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

Do not shrug your shoulders and accept the normalization of untruths.

Red lights blinking on democracy’s dashboard

The Supreme Court cannot be allowed to become the ultimate, unaccountable arbiter of everything.

Take hopelessness and turn it into resilience.

No offense, but this thread hasn’t been about you for quite a while.

If ‘weird’ was the finish line, they ran through the tape and kept running.

I don’t recall signing up for living in a dystopian sci-fi novel.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

Decision time: keep arguing about the last election, or try to win the next one?

We’ve had enough carrots to last a lifetime. break out the sticks.

Disagreements are healthy; personal attacks are not.

Today in our ongoing national embarrassment…

Sadly, there is no cure for stupid.

Republicans are the party of chaos and catastrophe.

“They all knew.”

Consistently wrong since 2002

You come for women, you’re gonna get your ass kicked.

Thought I’d raise some money for some competitive elections that aren’t getting quite as much attention as some others.

Barbara Bollier, Kansas Senate

Goal Thermometer

Alan Gross, Alaska Senate

Goal Thermometer

And even though it’s a big money state, it’s worth getting behind MJ Hegar in Texas some more.

    Nancy Landon Kassebaum just endorsed Bollier. She can win.

    Dunno if this was mentioned in any previous threads, but if you needed evidence that Charlie Baker, Governor of Massachusetts, is a Republican, you now have it:  he has endorsed Susan Collins for US Senator from Maine.  As a Masshole, I both outraged and resigned to this sort of thing from Baker, and I will up my contribution to Sara Gideon, Collins’ opponent.

    @Haroldo:

    He will be is running for president in 2024 as the champion of the reborn Republican Party

    Every time I start to feel good about the senate, somebody talks me out of it. Other than Jones in Alabama, which seats are expected to go from blue to red?

    @James E Powell:

    cnn.com/2020/08/31/politics/election-2020-senate-races/index.html

    This has Jones and Peters (MI) as flips, though the article mentions that Peters is not nearly the sure thing that Jones is.

    @Haroldo:

    Peters has been up by a good margin in most polls I’ve seen.
