This might be a great time to go through your photos and select your pics for the 2021 BJ Pet Calendar.
We have a new system this year.
It’s a 4-step process, start to finish. (for you)
- start the process by sending an email message
- use the link we supply to upload your files
- check for your nym and names of your pets in the spreadsheet we’ll post later on BJ
- notify us if anything is incorrect
Details will be sent to you by email once you send the email with your nym and pet names.
We have 120 150 pet names for the calendar so far!

To start the process, simply send email to pet-calendar or to watergirl. If you need more info about the exact email addresses, check out Contact Us in the white bar up top, for details.
Your message should include:
- your nym
- the names of all your pets that are going to be in the calendar

Calendars will be available to order by December 1.
Beth needs time to work with the pics on the design, so fair warning: we are going to have to be more firm about deadlines in order to have the calendars available to order by December 1.
Please let us know by Oct 15 that you plan to send photos in, and the names of your pets. Even without all the pictures, knowing how many entries there will be allows Beth to get started on the design!
The we-really-mean-it-last-date for submitting your pictures is Nov 1. For real.

edit: I love the casually pinning with Tucker’s paw. I wish I could post the video of the first day they met, when Henry was my friend Carol’s dog. (For two weeks.)
They bonded instantly and are chasing each other around like crazy people. Maybe I can get Cole to put it up on his youtube page so I can link to it. I have no interest in setting anything up on youtube.

My current pointless pet project is to try to figure out which of our cats are south paws and which are north paws. Starscream my baby is definitely a lefty. Miss Meg is a righty. Blind Mac is not interested in participating. Shadow wants to try the leopard face thing on me, and Mouf agrees with my husband that this is all very stupid. I will get Mouf to participate eventually. He loves batting those Maine Coon Cat big mittens around.

Are you on a phone or a computer? You can upload from either. Oh a phone you just need to know where you photos are stored. If you need to send them in as attachments, we can do that, if needed.

@Sab: We figured out that one of our cats is a lefty because she followed us into the bathroom and the door slowly swung shut, but not all the way. She could have opened it easily with her right paw, but kept trying with her left. This has happened more than once so we’re pretty sure.

ETA: husband isn’t luddite. Me getting cable was condition of him moving in twenty years ago. Also his youngest is a first adaptor. If I insist they will figure it out. If not, they will never be fed in this house again.

You can’t just put the email address itself on Balloon Juice, or that email will forever be useless because of SPAM.
