This sucks

James has more than double the cash on hand Peters does.

He’s going into the final weeks with $8.7 million.

Peters reported $3.5 million in the bank. #MIsen https://t.co/TgV5KbUNWL

Let’s raise more money for Gary Peters

Gary Peters, Michigan Senate (incumbent)

This, on the other hand, is great news.

A new Harstad Research poll in Alaska finds Al Gross (I) edging Sen. Dan Sullivan (R) in the U.S. Senate race, 47% to 46%.

Let’s raise some money for Al Gross.

Peters is the most nondescript Senator, though a good one. I think he has the highest “no opinion” percentage in the approval polls.

I wanted to make some donations, but prefer to remain anonymous.  I looked a few weeks back, it seemed like ActBlue and other online sites passed your ID along, even when not legally required. (under $50 limit, or maybe $20 limit?)

Some people suggested faking info, but that seemed shaky to me.  Maybe illegal, maybe it would throw the money in never-never land after not passing checks deeper in the system.

I think you can donate cash, in person, under the limit legally.  But that gets difficult during COVID.

Of course, maybe that would kill two birds with one stone. Canada would let me in to travel directly to Alaska, I could go slowly, on foot & canoe and make a two year journey of it.  But Al Gross wouldn’t get his twenty until next election cycle.

Something to keep in mind, and I donated anyway, is what was Daily Kos elections experts point is out that Gary spent WAY more than James and likely used it to lock in better ad rates.

@D Gardner: As did I.  Always liked Peters even before this election cycle.  Maybe with the election of Biden, the country will redevelop a visible liking of politicians who are sane, calm, and rational.

That’s why I also like Doug Jones, even though with 2 races in my own state that’s where the bulk of my money has gone.

@Unique UID: You could donate to Pizza To the Polls, or Chefs to the Polls.  Either side could donate to those, so you wouldn’t be outing yourself publicly if that is your concern.

Maybe the Gary Peters thermo should be set for $35K? Or at least 30?

I’m almost done to budget for the cycle (but tipped in for Peters again just now). Just spent two days crunching numbers. I’ve got airline miles out the wazoo — which some day I’ll get to use.

I’m at just under 55% state legislative and local races, slightly above plan, but I’m good with that. I’m excited to see what can be done as progressive folk have discovered that funding down-ballot and not just Potus will do for our struggling, battered democracy.
