So here is a funny story to take some edge off. Shortly after the 2016 election, I posted about how I noticed one of my tenants (minimum wage jobs) had a massive Trump banner in their living room window, and I asked if it would be bad to jack up their rent. I ended up increasing their rent 5% a year because, capitalism.
Fast forward to 2019. They told me they weren’t renewing their lease , as quote, “we bought a house.” This wasn’t unusual as there were many safe Detroit suburbs where you could buy a house for $150k. But when they moved out and texted me their forwarding address, my jaw hit the fucking floor. It was a street address for a upper middle class suburb, where if you told people you lived there, they would assume $500k mcmansion . I thought to myself, damn , maybe Trump did help them do really well. So I google street view’d the address. It was a trailer park.
@narya: the dryer sheets (and also liquid fabric softener) coat the laundry with waxy/surfactant substances https://home.howstuffworks.com/dryer-sheets.htm. I personally use liquid fabric softener on most of my clothes (excluding the workout/bicycle clothes) and vinegar instead of fabric softener for the towels (as I want the towels to soak up water).
And I also use a wool dryer ball (most of the time-sometimes it gets stuck in a load and gets transferred out of the dryer) I haven’t used dryer sheets in years as I’m not all that keen on having wax-coated dryer lint around.
61.
MisterForkbeard
@anon: I love that a McMansion is $500k in Detroit.
Biden would need to win about 63 percent of what’s left to count in Georgia in order to win it. Based on how well he’s done in late-counted ballots so far, that’s eminently doable.

1) PA

It’s going to be PA. Nevada might finish counting first but they’re going to stall on calling it until Arizona confirms that Biden won. They’ll have egg on their faces if they put Biden over 270 then have to recant.
If Biden does win NC or GA, it will almost certainly be pending a recount. PA should be finished counting before that happens.
So I’d put my quatloos on PA for the call, although I guess there’s an outside chance that both NV and AZ confirm before PA does. PA also looks like it will have the safest margin for Biden when this is all done, so we’ll probably hear a call not too long after Biden takes the lead.
