The classics are always in style. And this Montero guy is a genius in his field.

The Oakland Museum has an exhibit running through February entitled “Mothership: Voyage into Afrofuturism” that includes a replica of the Parliament / Funkadelic Mothership. I haven’t been there yet but will go soon.

Loved both of these!
But I’ve gotta go OT about the hack of Epik by anonymous. OMG. The favorite domain registry of white trashionalists and Naz punks has had tons of info leaked. And the owner is a dipshit “christian libertarian” who lives in the area (Sammamish, WA). And they set up their data bases without basic security protocols. The sold folks an anonymizer service add-on that didn’t really hide much (she types, like she understands any of this in depth ?).
The gist being that the folks who run various pr*ud b*y sites have been identified. And the company owner, Rob Monster, help a video AMA that is crazeballz. Wapo has an article, and there’s good stuff at the twitter @epikfailsnippets.
Did you know that databases can have curses put on them so laptops & hard drives will catch fire? Ha ha ha ha ha ha *gasp* ha ha ha ha…….

Kinda wished Lil Nas X had done Dolly’s Vaccine version, too.

What you gotta remember, that music current isn’t even out of the solar system and won’t even reach Alfa Centuri for three more years.

I’m going to leave these, as a way off-piste contribution for those trying to slow down before sleeping. Both by Víkingur Ólafsson (who can make me actually listen to piano)

Donny’s bored. Thus, “Release the lawyers!”
Sad!

Oh dear. I got all excited thinking this was going to be about musicals.
Not into Hamilton but Book of Mormon Broadway is genius. I love singing the songs in my car.

Reading the Alexandra Petri article accompanied by the Parliament song is pure joy.

Lil Nas X captures the same vibe as Dolly; not easy to do. Try running Dolly’s Jolene if on a 45 at 33 1/3, it’s amazing, heart-wrenching. She’s a mega-talent; Lil Nas X is worthy of emulating her.

I do believe I need Lady G’s fainting couch at the very notion that some people might hold “actual malice” against a treasonous sack of shit like TFG. Get the smelling salts!

I love Lil Nas X’s cover of Dolly’s song but I am not sure how I feel about a black person singing this line: “With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green” as a sign of an incomparable beauty.

Lil Nas X gives me chills like Prince did. And thanks to OO for the Parliament song. My ex took me to see Frank Zappa and Bootsy Collins was playing with him in his diaper and pacifier. Good times.
Mousebumples
Love the Nas cover. Gives a different feel to Jolene but still shows what an amazing songwriter Dolly is.
