This blog will never even come close to 10,000 until commentators can post photos of their latest culinary creations.

No biscuits!?!? The horror, the horror….

@Winston: So Tamale pie for 8
1 28 oz can Hormel Tamales
1 15 oz can Great Value Chili with beans
1 15 oz can GV organic garbanzo chick peas
8 oz finely shredded sharp cheddar cheeze
Makes two batches so use only use half ingredients at a time unless you are serving 8.
Spread the chili and garbanzos in the bottom a 9 inch pie plate. Make an X with 4 tamales and cover with 1/4 cup cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. 242 calories, 25g carbs, 4g fiber, 3g sugar, 11g protein and fat. Almost ideal for a Keto diet meal. NO BISCUITS

Nothing more diabolical than a handsome man with no biscuits.
Nothing.

@HumboldtBlue: I will follow up with my chicken and dumplings which has biscuits as soon as I make it. But NO PICTURES

@Winston: Mmmm …. makes me wanna find/make non-red-meat versions of the bits, so I can put it together! I found chicken tamales, and I can make turkey chili ….

@HumboldtBlue: That is the kind of meal I would have prepared for my family if I still had one. Sadly, I live alone and mostly prepare meals from cans or frozen and since the pandemic I get my food delivered. So it must withstand fresh and keep for awhile or rot. So cans. pasta. noodles and frozen White Castles, Jimmie Dean are my gotos. I go to market for bananas and avocados and ice cream, since that is a quick in and out.
Winston
@Chetan Murthy: Where did you find chicken tamales? Please share.
Winston
@Winston: Forgot to mention that tamale pie works out to 83 cents per serving.

@Winston: Oh, I just searched on Amazon and found ’em. Haven’t actually -bought- ’em. I’m hoping in a few weeks I’ll be able to go into shops again, and then I’ll look around and see if they stock ’em locally, instead of having to get ’em delivered.

Walmart+ includes delivery of groceries for a year at $98 . Otherwise $9.95 per delivery. Minimum order is $35 either way. This is not an advertisement, but in my case is a very good deal, since I order groceries weekly
eta I imagine families would order more often.

@Winston: Safeway has a similar deal ($60/yr) — I have that now.
Winston
@Chetan Murthy: I miss Safeway. Not in Florida.
Winston
@Winston: Since I don’t know what the heck I’m talking about, Safeway in Florida is known as Sav A Lot. 3 miles from me.
