Crazy: RNC will pay up to $1.6 million for Trump's legal bills, all involving issues related to his business practices. He's not a public official, not a candidate, and this doesn't relate to his time as president. And this!@jdawsey1 and @Fahrentholdhttps://t.co/hiESX81uMt pic.twitter.com/0jBRGKRAAq

Financial domination (also known as findom) is a fetish lifestyle, in particular a practice of dominance and submission, in which a submissive (money slave, finsub, paypig, human ATM, or cash piggy) gives gifts and money to a financial dominant (money mistress, findom/findomme, God/Goddess or money domme).
The relation may often be accompanied by other practices of BDSM and d/s relationships, such as erotic humiliation, but there may be virtually no further intimacy between the individuals. The relationship between the submissive and the dominant may take place solely via online communication, but it is not uncommon for the submissive to accompany the dominant while shopping and paying with the submissive’s money…
Reince Priebus, Ronna Romney McDaniel, ‘Leader’ McConnell — all reduced to cam guys, meekly scurrying to comply as the Great God-Emperor barks Rent me a rally venue! Bulk up my private club memberships! Pay down my legal bills!
And the Gilded Whored MAGAts have one hand down their pants and the other frantically clicking the DONATE button.
Perhaps some of the higher-ranking RNC members were overoptimistic in their interpretation of the old saw: You don’t pay the hooker to get you off; you pay them to go away afterwards.

Really don’t want to think about any of these people in any kind of bdsm situation.

RNC money that doesnât go to support House and Senate seats. Works for me!
feebog
I keep wondering what happens when TFG doesn’t wake up one morning.
eclare
I think Charlie Sheen said that in one of his trials. I didn’t pay the hooker for sex, I paid her to leave when I was done.
IIRC that argument did not work.
JoyceH
Open thread? Alrighty then. You have my permission to call me callous if you want, but I am SO sick of the endless repeating video clips of murder suspects blubbering on the witness stand!
Ken
They may regret saying that, if TFG realizes it means there’s money that’s not going to him.
mrmoshpotato
Wow. During the shitstain’s Nazi rallies that he called campaign rallies, I wondered if his fat, orange, fascist head was wondering “How the fuck are these idiots believing this bullshit I say?”
Now I add if he’s amazed by the con he pulled on an entire party.
ETA – that highlighted section is puke-worthy, but this is what the Rethuglican has been steadily devolving itself into for at least 40 years.

Thinking about these people in any sexual context is really upsetting.

@James E Powell: True. But, this is just the beginning. Trumpâs gonna grift the RNC biggly on his attorney fees.

What does Liz Cheney have to do with the RNC paying the bills for TFG? And no, I don’t want to click on the story since it will hit a paywall.

Blech.
Brachiator
@James E Powell:
True enough. The GOP donors have deep pockets and are determined to throw money down a rat hole.
This must make Trump feel truly loved.
This also reinforces the sad reality that the GOP has entirely abandoned democracy.
Chetan Murthy
@Jerzy Russian: I believe it’s Chovanec sarcastically referencing the repeated refrain from Fox and other GrOPers of the form “Why can’t the Dems move on?” about Russiagate and impeachment. I mean, now it’s Cheney, a GrOPer.

Your first mistake – he does not believe anything he’s saying is bullshit. In his alternate world, he is the truth, the one, the only, the greatest human to ever live. Yes it’s all a con. But he didn’t need to convince himself, he absolutely believes all of it. He conned himself long ago, he’s not “In on it,” he’s the first person he conned. That’s how he knows it will work on everyone else, he’s that good at conning idiots.
Anne Laurie
Chovanec, the tweeter, is a conservative ex-Republican. The existing GOP ‘leadership’, such as it is, considers Rep. Cheney’s role on the Jan. 6 Insurrection Investigation committee deeply embarrassing. Actual conservatives, especially those who used to vote Republican, applaud her willingness to keep the spotlight on the lawbreakers.
(One would assume this is why Nancy Pelosi blocked Gym Jordan from the position Cheney now holds… )
Ruckus
@Brachiator:
Well they’ve abandoned reality long ago, why should they have anything to do with democracy?

The Speaker wanted a serious investigation of what happened, not a circus. Gym Jordan is a clown(who all right minded folk should find frightening) who would turn any committee hearings into a circus.

Oh, Joyce, youâre not alone. Hated it with the Rittenhouse kid, hating it even more with the Potter woman. Iâm sure theyâre legit scared and emotional, but it always merely comes across as hammy overacting of badly-scripted lines.
Geoduck
@Ruckus: Eh. I’d say even deeper down, he knows he’s worthless piece of garbage. It’s why he over-compensates so viciously and completely, with the gold-plating and the hideous combover and illfitting suits. At the end of the day, the voice of his long-dead father is still there, telling him the truth about himself..
Ruckus
@Geoduck:
I think the vast majority of them know deep down how fucking worthless they are, that’s what scares the crap out of them, that their whiteness is no longer the guarantee that they will be protected from failure, is no longer a blanket pass on their less than even mediocre lives and obvious failings as humans. I think enough of them think that if SFB can make it they need to support him or lose all concept of their “greatness.” As well, I’m saying is that I think you are correct in that there is a voice in his head, but I think it’s really his own tiny, crappy, childish voice, and it’s even louder than the voice of his POS father.
mrmoshpotato
@Ruckus: Point taken.
And hahaha. Well said!

1.6 million is nothing compared to the Trump fundraising haul, though. Theyâll pay that kickback every day and twice on Sundays.
Scamp Dog
Did anyone else catch the line about McDaniel warning him to not form a third party? That might actually be a way out of this crisis of democracy, for the GOP/conservative movement to explode into various (hopefully) ineffective factions. Then again, it might not make much of a change at all, and just turn out to be a renaming of the current conglomeration of evil, greed and stupidity.
Wait. weâre supposed to avoid doom-thinking until January, arenât we? Sorry.
Amir Khalid
$1.6 million? Hmm. That’s chump change compared to the lawyer bills that TFG must be facing if he’s properly lawyered up.
SiubhanDuinne
@Amir Khalid:
Amir, hope youâre safe. Were you affected by that huge typhoon that churned up the South China Sea, or did it miss you?

If “the libs” are forcing TFG/RNC to pay at least $1.6M in fees it’s fair to say we own them.

@?BillinGlendaleCA: Also, Jordan is implicated in the Insurrection and the “soft coup” it was supporting, and the Commitee would be investigating his role..
When Speaker Pelosi rejected Jordan and another nominee, the Minority Leader could have nominated replacements to serve alongside Rodney Davis (R-IL) and two other other Republican nominees. They might not have carried on like Jordan would have, but they still could have blown smoke and sown doubt. Instead, McCarthy pulled his remaining nominees. Then the Speaker added Cheney and Kinzinger and got the Commitee she wanted.
I think trump was agitating against Republican participation at the time. He ended up facilitating Liz Cheney’s selection and I think many Republicans will regret it. Cheney is out for blood.
When a joint commitee was killed by the Senate, I downplayed the effect an investigating commitee might have anyway- a sour grapes attitude. But now that this January 6 Commitee is in action, I can tell I was wrong. I think it will be a neccesary and effective complement to the criminal prosections the Department of Justice is conducting. Its public impact is hard to predict, but I think that the timing of the public hearings will be good.

Trump’s going to need lawyers. Rumors I see online this morning are that NY is about to indict him on racketeering. Please let it be so!
Geminid
@Dorothy A. Winsor: I’m curious, how does the new Illinois Congressional map look to you? I know it may knock out some Republicans, and center a new district in “Chicagoland.”* Are you still in Sean Casten’s district?
* At night I listen some to Chicago’s clear channel AM news station, and I hear announcers and advertisers alike use this term for the greater Chicago area. It’s a nice name; “Chicagoland” seems positive, even a little magical.

@Dorothy A. Winsor:
Saw some of that rumbling online myself. Â Oh please, please, please! Â All I want for Christmas is TFG indicted!
Dorothy A. Winsor
@Geminid: I’m in Casten’s district and happy about it. I’m not plugged in enough to know how the new map will work.
Dorothy A. Winsor
@Geminid: I say “Chicagoland” too. I live in a suburb, but Chicago is the heart of the area.
Geminid
@Dorothy A. Winsor: On December 14, the Washington Post reported that a Manhattan grand jury had heard testimoney by Donald Bender of the accounting firm Mazars. David Farenthold and three other reporters wrote the story, and also said that Rosemary Vrabic of Deutchebank, Trump’s principal lender, had met with prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office that is overseeing the grand jury.
Bender and Vrabic, the authors say, “were never Trump’s employees, but they knew more about his company’s inner workings than many employees did.
I found this story through @Kyle Chaney, who is following these investigations closely.
Chris Johnson
@Geminid: Deutsche Bank! Nice.
Them who know can see the tick, tick, tick here⊠I have a very good feeling about stuff like this that goes on and mysteriously doesn’t get a lot of press attention, as if it’s something happening that the powers that be aren’t eager to have publicizedâŠ
dnfree
@Geminid: I live in the Elgin area, which is now part of Chicagoland but 40 years ago was a separate city, not a suburb. Â Population of Elgin then was 50-60,000, and now is double that.
Iâm also still in Sean Castenâs district, but he will have a primary challenger from a neighboring district because our district acquired part of hers.
prostratedragon
@Geminid:
The Chicagoland concept. Generally attributed to the founding publisher of the Tribune. He had in mind the whole territory with which the city had essential commercial relationships, so it’s much larger than the current CBSA or CSA, which are based largely on commutability (and to a lesser extent the reach of local media markets). Nature’s Metropolis by William Cronon, a book I need to reread soon, treats Chicagoland as a function of the exploitation of natural resources by the industries based in the city.
The more casual use is just the 5-county metro area/CBSA.
Geminid
@Chris Johnson: I’m glad somebody can spell that damn bank’s name! The Manhattan County District Attorney’s Office will have a new chief sworn in next month, but that shouldn’t alter the trajectory of this investigation.
Geminid
@prostratedragon: Being at the southern tip of Lake Michigan, Chicago was in a prime location for rail transport, and rail to ship and vice versa. Atlanta similarly prospered as a railroad center at the southern edge of the Appalachian Mountains. Now the two cities are major air transpirt hubs as well. Both cities are surrounded by flat, buildable land on three sides at least, which along with hood educational resources favors continued economic development.
trnc
Yup. Isn’t that essentially the same as buying someone’s vote? How is any of this legal?
