    Karla, who is the first person to sign the obituary, and who took in Mary G’s cats, is the Karla who took Mary G on the family cruise a few years ago.

    I’m so glad Mary G had some a faithful friend.

    Karla (was her housemate and mom to the teenager) shared this with me:

    I truly believed in my heart that she was coming home, and she was working so hard to do you, but God called her home and it was time to go. I feel comfort in know she died the way she wanted, not in a hospital with needles in her arms and she just went to sleep and died in her sleep just the way she wanted, at the beginning I was asking God why she came out of hospital to die in rehab, but then it hit me, it’s because in a way he was gifting her her wish.:( .

    She loved her wheelchair gardening, and the last several years, I do think she enjoyed helping a teenager navigate the world.   She’ll be missed.

    Mary was a very special person and we don’t usually get to met that many very special people in our lives. I’ve met a few in my seven decades so I count myself very, very lucky, because the very not special people out number them by miles. And yes I’ve met far too many very not special individuals. Mary made up for most of them but everyone has their limits.

    @Ruckus ??: You said it so well- and it takes one to know one. This most recent and cruel loss and forces a counting of blessings. This is a nice place to hang and it is filled with all of you all and you know who you are and you know what you’ve done and I thank you. I’m also thinking about the Imms big and small and keeping a candle in the window until everyone gets home safe.

    I’m no Mary, of that there is no doubt of anyone. But I try.

    You make this place better as well. I have to say that over the last few years this place has been my go to. A place to go when you want to sing, to cry or to just wonder why, or why not. More a home than many have had, more a sewing circle for those that don’t sew, more than a club house with no dress code – or even dresses required, and a place that can see someone pay over 10 times the price of a beautiful piece of art, to help people they likely don’t know and will never meet. Damn am I lucky they let any one in this establishment.

    Is this place the blog that was mentioned?  I am not sure  I know how to process that.  She told me she liked my music links.  I am glad they made her happy since this place meant that much to her.  Did it get a little dusty in here all of sudden?
