A little background.
On Monday, the leaked Supreme Court document was published.
On Tuesday, I contacted Voces to see if they knew what they would do with the funds if we raised $15k or $25k for them, but we would want an external match, and I said we needed to know quickly. They knew immediately how the money would be used – for more relational organizing, which has been hugely successful for them.
By Wednesday, they had fund a match for us!
Fast forward to today’s announcements.
The match they found for us is for the full $25,000, regardless of the final amount we raise. You guys did that! Because we have a track record of coming through for these organizations.
We are aiming for $18,000 in donations from Balloon Juice, which means that every dollar of our $18,000 will essentially be multiplied by 1.4 (the math: 18k x 1.4 = 25k) Plus whatever angel matches we have.
For the next 3 months, all existing recurring donations will be considered part of this match. (That’s $335 x 3 months = $1,000.)
The first 3 months of all new recurring donations that are set up this month will also be considered part of this match. So please let me know if you set up a new recurring donation, and for how much (email is fine if you prefer privacy) and that will be factored in, as well.
And now Mousebumples has offered a second $1,000 angel match! She will match up to $100 per person.
So… depending on whether you guys set up some new recurring donations, and assuming my math is right, we only need $3,500 in additional donations to meet our $18,000 goal.
If we get to $18,000, Voces de la Frontera will have $43,000 they would not have had otherwise.
