Jen Psaki leaves the White House after holding 224 briefings — more than all of Trump's press secretaries combined https://t.co/9uH4EplrpV

— Politics Insider (@PoliticsInsider) May 13, 2022

.@Poynter: "@PressSec has restored honor, dignity and class to the White House briefing room."

"Psaki was consistently prepared, effective in communicating for the president and, even when sparring with media members, always respectful." https://t.co/0ZmP7e2Epp

Jen Psaki is the most talented, quick-thinking White House Press Sec. of a lifetime, and that goes back a way. She'll be missed. @PressSec @WhiteHouse https://t.co/z28CQZfmVJ

I am honored that @POTUS trusted me to speak on his behalf. The @WhiteHouse is about the people. I am deeply grateful to the public servants (including my faves on the press team) who have made this job the experience of a lifetime. You've got this @KJP46! Trump had Press Secretary’s? Missed them.

I know he had someone to “press his pants”; maybe that is what they meant.

More press conferences in 16 months than TFG’s worthless hacks held in four effing years.  And she pwned Douchy like 200 times.  Theon Greyjoy was less pwned that Douchy.

Are we going to have a pool, to guess which WH reporter will be the first to try dominance games with Karine Jean-Pierre?  And “All of them” is not an acceptable answer.

(Maybe “dominance games” is the wrong word. It will be more like when the regular teacher is out, and the second-graders push their luck with the substitute.)

A state judge in Georgia laughed former U.S. senator and Trump-endorsed gubernatorial candidate David Perdue out of court, saying in essence that he had no idea what he was talking about when he filed suit late last year over the 2020 election results in Georgia.

It looks like they don’t have the famous stamp listed, but they have other stamps, magnets, shirts, sweatshirts, etc.

$1 = 29.5 UAH at the moment according to Xe.com, so the prices seem impossibly low. Don’t know about shipping costs – haven’t gotten that far yet.

Boebert’s tweet has a picture of Trump’s press secretary Kayleigh McEnany wearing too much make up, as usual. Being Trump’s press secretary was super hard because he had no consistent message and lied to everyone and treated everyone with disdain, so no one could trust his press secretary to a) not also lie or b) know what was actually going on. But like other people in the thread have mentioned, Trump’s press secretaries did not even bother to do the job.

Interesting. Make them own it has a lot of appeal. (There’s no risk of it becoming law because the House would never pass it (and it wouldn’t in the Senate either), but they need to get the details right.)

@Baud: Particular ones might need to think about it (he cites Johnson in comments in the thread) for supposed fear of alienating “moderates” that they need to win.  Every seat matters, especially now.

But, I dunno.  If that’s a concern, they’d try to find a way to kill it before it even comes to a vote.  “Schumer was mean to someone, so we’re not going to vote on it.”

At the moment, anything that reinforces the idea that the GOP is now the GQP and UltraMAGA and all the rest, and that the Democrats are the sane party (California has a $97+B surplus) is probably a good thing.

It’s an interesting thought experiment (one of many that Schumer may have thought about many times over the years).

@MagdaInBlack: Also, most voters just wouldn’t pay attention to a Senate vote like that. Not like they’ll pay attention to Roe being overturned.

@Geminid: You are wrong abot Roe v Wade being overturned. I have been rhrough those pregnancy scares. More even  have been through abortions. Not a thing to talk about it but something to remember voting.

Open thread, still in a Corporate “time out”,

So I am catching up on sleep, threads, gonna try to start on laundry tomorrow,

Still have no clue what I may or may not have done “wrong”.

I figure that it’s going to drag out another week, ( part time “witnesses”, 2 HR staff),

On the bright side, today was sunny, ( so usual shit show), a sunny weekend forecast, and I don’t have to be there.

@CaseyL: Jean-Pierre showed guts when she got between the angry man-bunned vegan and Senator Harris. He was a big guy and he still reached past, took Harris’ mike from her, and started talking about farming practices as Harris left the stage.

The guy did not talk long before a couple men grabbed him. One of them was Doug Emhoff, whose face was red as a beet. If it had been another time and place, Mr. Manbun would have had his ass kicked. Emhoff was furious.

@Another Scott: This would be good.  Might also work to pass a bill that restricts states from making contraception (all kinds) illegal.

Jen Psaki is the best Press Secretary I’ve ever seen.

    That’s it. That’s the comment.

ps good to see they spell focused with only one ‘s’.

    @Another Scott:  Twitter dick_nixon disagrees…

I write about politics because I am a politician. I write about baseball and football because I have studied them closely all my life. I wouldn’t dare write about, say, medicine, or shoemaking, and I wish others would show the same basic respect. https://t.co/vFyk9qFpxk

Did not know Jen has a 4 year old. My respect is multiplied thousandfold.

How do we convince her to run for President?
