Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The low info voters probably won’t even notice or remember by their next lap around the goldfish bowl.

I’d hate to be the candidate who lost to this guy.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

Fight for a just cause, love your fellow man, live a good life.

The revolution will be supervised.

Is it irresponsible to speculate? It is irresponsible not to.

They are not red states to be hated; they are voter suppression states to be fixed.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

Just because you believe it, that does not make it true.

The Giant Orange Man Baby is having a bad day.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

Conservatism: there are people the law protects but does not bind and others who the law binds but does not protect.

Many life forms that would benefit from greater intelligence, sadly, do not have it.

With all due respect and assumptions of good faith, please fuck off into the sun.

You are either for trump or for democracy. Pick one.

One way or another, he’s a liar.

Hell hath no fury like a farmer bankrupted.

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

He seems like a smart guy, but JFC, what a dick!

Prediction: the gop will rethink its strategy of boycotting future committees.

Nancy smash is sick of your bullshit.

Never give a known liar the benefit of the doubt.

Let there be snark.

I want to invite everyone to what I think will be a really special zoom on Tuesday evening at 7:30.

Come and meet the folks from Voting Access for All Coalition!  You will meet some of the people who founded this organization two years ago, and you get to meet all of the folks who are in the video below.

I know that “zoom” and “fun” don’t always go together, but I can’t help feeling anything but excited and inspired when I talk to the people from VAAC.

Yes, You Can Vote in Michigan—New Video!

Send email to WaterGirl to get the zoom link.

Please join us in the zoom tomorrow!

Totally open thread.

I have only heard from a couple of people so far, and I really hope there is more interest than that, even with the site issues.

They are such great people, I would hate for them to show up and have almost no audience.

I would rather donate than zoom. If you put up a donation thread before the zoom maybe the account total may assuage the disappointment of the zoom participation.

Just sent you an email, WG. They seem like a good group who’ve identified an important and often overlooked niche.

I think so, too. With 300,000 people impacted and the goal of getting 100,000 of them to vote in November, that alone could swing Michigan.

Can’t wait! And you can always attend the Zoom without speaking or turning on your video camera. WaterGirl isn’t going to call on anyone :) This one will be particularly engaging.

Like I told WG, when she told me about it, they seem like an awesome group, but Zooming (with 2 kids age 2 and under) isn’t really workable, unfortunately. I hope it goes well, though!
