Thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday. I’m now a year older and wish I could say I am a year wiser, but I try not to lie to you all.
If you want to know my headspace right now, about a week ago I threw a towel over my shower curtain, and the curtain rod and curtain came crashing to the ground. I looked at it, shrugged, and walked away. The curtain and rod have been in a crumpled pile on the floor for a week, and I have been showering without them, just using my towel after I dry up to mop the floor.
Today, because it is the start of a new year for me, I went to fix it, spent twenty seconds looking at it, grabbed it, balled it up, yelled “fuck this shit” and threw it out the bathroom window… on to the top of the pergola canopy on my back deck that I had forgotten about. I just ordered a new rod and shower curtain from amazon.
