The GOP is never in disarray, but today’s Washington Post sure paints a picture of a very troubled array, courtesy of everyone’s favorite cheeto-faced, ferret-reedit shitgibbon:
The former president is now eyeing a September announcement, according to two Trump advisers, who like some others interviewed for this article spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations. One confidant put the odds at “70-30 he announces before the midterms.” And others said he may still decide to announce sooner than September.
The article goes on at length, quoting those strategists (and planetary genius, election tamperer, and shitgibbon-whisperer, Lindsey Graham) who believe that an early announcement will boost both Trump and his party, and what seems like a more competent faction who absolutely, 100%, totally, dear-FSM-make-it-stop do not want to turn the midterms into a referendum on Trump.
I’m sitting here both rooting for injuries and quaking in dread at what the DC media will do once the orange fascist declares again. Though I will say I’ll enjoy watching DeSantis attempt to go all Brutus on his Caesar.
One last thing: there is an untested legal claim that Presidents can’t be indicted. Trump desperately wants that courtesy to extend to candidates. Fox will certainly advance that “principle.” Will the rest of our friends with press passes follow suit?
Open, this thread is.
ETA: As I was googling to copy/paste “papier-mâché” with the correct accents, I stumbled upon this photo, of Haitian Mardi Gras masks that seemed to me a perfect representation of today’s GOP. So enjoy:

*This is how we know Peale did not paint this portrait from life. Our Donald would never be found within three city blocks of a book.
PS: sorry about the tiny size of the image. Some glitch on my end. When I get help on this, you’ll know because I’ve got some Tikka and Champ pix tee’d up to apologize for my long silences and utterly irregular posting habits.
