Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

’Where will you hide, Roberts, the laws all being flat?’

You’re just a puppy masquerading as an old coot.

That’s my take and I am available for criticism at this time.

If rights aren’t universal, they are privilege, not rights.

The press swings at every pitch, we don’t have to.

We will not go back.

Imperialist aggressors must be defeated, or the whole world loses.

Peak wingnut was a lie.

Do we throw up our hands or do we roll up our sleeves? (hint, door #2)

Sadly, media malpractice has become standard practice.

Our messy unity will be our strength.

We need to vote them all out and restore sane Democratic government.

The poor and middle-class pay taxes, the rich pay accountants, the wealthy pay politicians.

You know it’s bad when the Project 2025 people have to create training videos on “How To Be Normal”.

T R E 4 5 O N

So fucking stupid, and still doing a tremendous amount of damage.

“Can i answer the question? No you can not!”

Find someone who loves you the way trump and maga love traitors.

A sufficient plurality of insane, greedy people can tank any democratic system ever devised, apparently.

There are more Russians standing up to Putin than Republicans.

Nothing says ‘pro-life’ like letting children go hungry.

New McCarthy, same old McCarthyism.

Just because you believe it, that does not make it true.

Our job is not to persuade republicans but to defeat them.

    Great collection!  I love the colors, the variety, and the whimsy of your choices.

    Cool pictures! In presenting this collection, you’ve shown us the interest that doors have, above and beyond their appearance. They’re the face the house/room/inhabitants very intentionally presents to the public. (Really wondering about whoever decided on the neon door.)

    @p.a.:

    The second photo is in Manhattan, NY.

    If you search for LGDR 3 East 89, you can see the building attached to the door.

    Very nice! I recently took a picture of the door of a hotel we were staying at in Geneva – doors can be very interesting :-)

    Ornate doors have no handles, at least on the outside.  How does the occupant get in?  Are these egress only?  Are they actually doors?

    @Dan B:

    It’s the Fifth Avenue Synagogue, and those are the side doors (mostly for show, I would think) on 5th Ave. The main entrance is on 62nd St.
