After this last month of incredible accomplishments. We've seriously had an administration's worth of accomplishments in a month. And it goes to show we were right about Joe Biden. And you all, with your journalism degrees and inside "sources", we're wrong. 2/

And after all the lies you've told about him for the last 18 months, we've damn well earned it.
So yeah, the meme is silly. It doesn't really have a template. It can be whatever we want it to be.
But it's a recognition that Joe Biden is a damn good President. 4/

When the media gets mad at it, you know the "Dark Brandon" meme is a good one. ?? https://t.co/VfNpGNXzWn

It’s nuts that anyone gives a damn about the Dark Brandon meme. It hurts no one. The only thing it does is motivate us and give us hope….
Oh.

Holding my breath waiting for the apology for the “gerontocracy” being out of touch, when in fact taking the long view, having patience, putting in the work and minimizing drama is actually how sh*t gets done.
Plus, it’s in the IRA that there will be free laser beam eye surgery for every over 75 who is a badass.  It’s in the back somewhere….

OMGLOL I totally love the photo of olâ handsome Joe laughing at Dark Brandon!! Have saved.

More Republicans in Disarray: Wisconsin Republican Assembly Speaker Vos has decided that former state Supreme Court justice and nut Michael Gableman, charged with investigating Wisconsin’s 2020 election, has outlived his usefulness to the state GOP. What pushed Vos? Gableman with Trump endorsed Vos’ primary opponent as well as accused Vos on a Steve Bannon podcast of having “a role in stealing the 2020 election.”

I’d suggest adopting that famous Conan (barbarian, not O’Brien) saying for Dark Brandon, but it doesn’t sound as good when updated to “Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the whining of the media.”
Omnes Omnibus
@Layer8Problem: The Vos-Gableman saga is fractally crazy. I try, but I cannot keep up.

Back in January, when I was working, Kim (a co worker) bitched that Dark Brandon, ( aka President of the United States, Joe Biden, ( sorry to out your secret identity, Sir)) wasnât getting anything done.
Like me, Kim is an âold leftieâ, with lots of bitter experience with The Establishment, but our media consumption is quite different. He consumes a lot of âclick bait, hot takesâ, where, well, I am here, and prefer Upton Sinclair deep dives into the Sausage Factory, ( you wonât believe what they put in that stuff,đ)
I pointed him to a list of everything Dark Brandon got done via Legislation and EOâs in his first 10 months, with only 50,
and Kim was like âholy fuck!!!!!!â. Turns out all the FTMSM negging drove all memory of Dark Brandonâs crime fighting out of his memory. Then we had a nice chat about âThe Mediaâ, and Kim told me some âhorror storiesâ from when he ran a SRO*, for DERA**.

@Ken: I dunno. Sounds good to me.

Just read that Rushdie was airlifted to UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA, and that’s where he got surgery and is ventilated. My former firm designed the new (opened during Covid) tower at that hospital.
Of all the people who I thought would end up in that hospital, Salman Rushdie was not on that list.

@LeftCoastYankee: except we know pressure worked in several parts to get them moving on things. God I hate this simplistic stuff.

Open Thread? Whew.
New front door installed this afternoon at the domicile, with the help of a friend who is also, shall we say, of a certain age. Solid core — that sucker is heavy!
Old door was hollow core of the type meant for interior use (already in place for some years before I moved in 39 years ago) and was deteriorating, termite chewed and falling to pieces; totally Methusalated.

@NotMax
Neglected to include one reason for the absolute necessity of two of us is it is a 36 inch wide door.

@Gin & Tonic:Â Thank you for that link.

@LeftCoastYankee: pretty sure that was in the footnotes … it’s always in the footnotes … there is a little known footnote in the constitution which says government of by and for the lawyers … (that is shamelessly stolen from multiple sources)

I could use a list like that! Updated occasionally. Maybe linked in the sidebar under “Featuring” along with the J6 hearings, Ukraine, kindness, etc.

For me, at last instead of attacking Democratic politicians they are attacking us, the Democratic political aware class. I love it because they finally give me a platform to tell them to go fuck themselves. They know that the dark brandon stuff is coming from us, not from the politicians.
Perhaps we should give them a nickname too. Squawking chickens.
Bobby Thomson
The criticism has big “you should dress your age” energy.
People are doing that and redefining age.

@cain: They know that the dark brandon stuff is coming from us, not from the politicians.
There are some out there who seriously don’t know that.

Heh. Not much to see — it’s a plain door without any sort of decoration.
Needs to be painted still (all sorts of surface scuffs and smudges on the selections at the big box store). That’ll come soon, right now I’m out of energy to do anything the least bit strenuous.
Suzanne
@NotMax: I just had Mr. Suzanne paint our front door in “Carolina Gull” by Benjamin Moore. It looks great.
LeftCoastYankee
@Edmund Dantes:
I totally agree with pressure being a major factor, and it should ALWAYS be put on politicians since they work for us.
That said, age isn’t what slowed the process, but I do think experience in negotiating helped the in-party drama queens/kings to come to realize where they needed to be.
And don’t assume one comment is the whole of someone’s view. Kind of simplistic, no?

@Suzanne: I was born at that hospital!
My sister happened to be at Chautauqua on Tuesday, doing hospitality at the Lutheran House. There have been lectures all week about how the US provides a safe space for writers in exile. Her event wasn’t at the main amphitheater, but there was not a lot of visible security.
