We have a double-match from Four Directions and $775 of a Balloon Juice angel match, which means that anything you donate up to $50 gets multiplied by 6!

    Once we match the remaining $775 of the $2,000 angel match, the $2,000 will go into the thermometer and we will be halfway to our $25,000!

    ETA: Actually, since we have a zoom coming up in a few minutes, I thought I was donating to Voces de là Frontera. But no worries, I’m happy to send another $25 to 4D-NV, and will happily catch VdlF later. Especially if someone puts up a match.

    @SiubhanDuinne:  There isn’t a plan to do more fundraising for Voces before the election in November.

    These zooms really aren’t about raising more money, they are about us getting to see how our previous donations are being put to use, and getting the scoop on the ground in these key states.

    WaterGirl, you really should be the Development Director for some great worthy 501(c)(3) nonprofit. You are great at finding donors who will put up matches and then leveraging the hell out of them to get every last penny. I’m truly in awe.

    I understand that, and it’s wonderful to learn first-hand how our dollars are being used. And my bad for not looking more carefully at the thermometer (though, as I say, I’m happy to put a little more money towards efforts in NV). Take the money and smile.

    For a long time I felt kind of churlish about my puny little $25-buck donations. But I’ve come to be a big believer in many small donations from a wide swath of people. If you can afford hundreds of thousands at a whack, that’s fabulous — but I also love the notion that lots of us at the grassroots level can have just as powerful an impact. With matches, maybe even a bigger impact.

    Is there any amount left to be matched? I get a bit lost with the various posts and the coming and going angel matches. (Not a criticism! Quite the opposite. I greatly appreciate the work going on here by WaterGirl, the angels, and the groups on the ground, of course. Just saying that I get lost in the current status of things. Given the structure of the blog, maybe this is the best we can do.)
