Balloon Juice

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

The words do not have to be perfect.

You passed on an opportunity to be offended? What are you even doing here?

When do we start airlifting the women and children out of Texas?

Come for the politics, stay for the snark.

Tick tock motherfuckers!

One way or another, he’s a liar.

Putting aside our relentless self-interest because the moral imperative is crystal clear.

This year has been the longest three days of putin’s life.

Not all heroes wear capes.

Sitting here in limbo waiting for the dice to roll

Washington Post Catch and Kill, not noticeably better than the Enquirer’s.

“I was told there would be no fact checking.”

Let’s delete this post and never speak of this again.

A democracy can’t function when people can’t distinguish facts from lies.

But frankly mr. cole, I’ll be happier when you get back to telling us to go fuck ourselves.

White supremacy is terrorism.

Stamping your little feets and demanding that they see how important you are? Not working anymore.

“Facilitate” is an active verb, not a weasel word.

Within six months Twitter will be fully self-driving.

If you thought you’d already seen people saying the stupidest things possible on the internet, prepare yourselves.

Someone should tell Republicans that violence is the last refuge of the incompetent, or possibly the first.

When they say they are pro-life, they do not mean yours.

Incompetence, fear, or corruption? why not all three?

If America since Jan 2025 hasn’t broken your heart, you haven’t loved her enough.

‘Tragic: the Gathering’ was TBogg’s name for CPAC, back when Erick Son of Erick was promoting it for a bunch of grifters, wanna-bes, and young interns networking(ifyouknowwhatImean) with each other, and the ‘mainstream’ media mostly showed up to mock them.

What a roster at CPAC! Perhaps the most extraordinary collection of grifters, gropers, conspiracists, and apologists for authoritarianism that has ever been gathered together in one place, with the possible exception of when Benito Mussolini dined alone. https://t.co/Ao1reLB2mf

I just did a search for TBogg on Breitbart’s death, and it was during his time at FDL and those words no longer exist from what I found.

Here’s a BJ thread authored by DougJ.

And here’s a link authored by Zandar with 567 comments.

    And one from ABL

And here is John Cole being quoted by The Week, and he was in high dudgeon!

Insulting the dead is just classless: “I don’t see any purpose in getting my jollies trashing” Breitbart, says John Cole at Balloon Juice. I certainly didn’t agree with him politically, but at a time like this, I’m just “really sad for his family.” It’s true that “Breitbart himself didn’t feel constrained by any similar notions of restraint or respect for others,” but we should all try to be better than that, and exhibit a “basic level of decency….”

To sum up, he indirectly insulted a lot of Black Women activists and had people who worked for him calling him out publicly for underpaying them. I can’t find a lot of direct links but I recall me pulling away from his work after some tales; I think even Imani Gandy called him out.
