I think it would be good to start the tradition of celebrating the day by playing Mussorgsky’s “Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks in Their Shells.” It’s eggcentric, eggxact, and altogether eggcelent.
Like everybody else, I was waiting for the butter lamb reveal. It never disappoints. In fact, I’d say this year’s was even better than all the others. I just hope Betty told it it was better, because if she didn’t it might get bitter. And if it got sufficiently bitter, it might run away. And then the next day there might be a headline: “BETTY’S BETTER BITTER BUTTER LAMB ON THE LAM!”

A contrary view from the Home of the Orange Apron…
So earlier this week I got a notification of a schedule change. I had worked 15 minutes into my day off to finish up an order, no problem I get OT on that when I hit 40 hours for the week. The schedule change changed my hours today from 8 hours to 6 hours, I was confused. The Service Desk Lead, reminded me that today is Easter and the store closes 2 hours early. So in observance of the “holiday” I’m taking a 2 hour pay cut and that 15 minutes of OT is now straight time.
And reminds me of the time when I was an asshole in my 20s having dinner w. my mom and some others at a restaurant in Berkeley. I chose a rabbit appetizer and a venison main (it was that kind of place) and said, in a loud voice, “the perfect meal: Thumper followed by Bambi!”
And then heard this little kid at the table immediately behind me wail “Mom!!!!…..”
I felt like such a jerk.

@MagdaInBlack: Where is the butter lamb? I never saw it, and I don’t see a post with it.
We had rabbit at a restaurant in San Francisco (Perbacco) once, and it was so good we went back the next evening and had it again. It didn’t hurt that the place had a great wine list as well, so we could at least pair it with a different wine each evening!

She tries. We had 10 people for brunch and after she warmed up it was fine. She’s pretty protective of the house, especially with men but she has good reason.
@eclare: Great group effort, I did spinach and mushroom frittata and there was focaccia, pretty salad, flatbread with avocado and salmon, cheesecake and spiced fig cake
I’m just having a usual Sunday hanging out at home. Well, not totally usual, since I have to give my dog her pills and her powder. She has a hot spot and is wearing a balloon collar, which is at least a step up from the cone. She’s gotten pretty good about taking her pills, but my current concern is that she’s drinking a lot of water and needs to go outside to pee frequently. Hoping it’s a medicine side effect and not a new medical issue.
@JoyceH: Our Lil Bit had an autoimmune condition and they normally give prednisone for it but our vet recommended Atopica even though it is for skin conditions and she lived 10 years on it.
Dog: “I will sit here and be perfectly still while you do your thing. At some point when you least expect it, I am peeing on your favorite set of cans.”

We celebrated Easter yesterday with some good friends. I made rabbit cacciatore. It was delicious.
It seemed like the right thing to do.

As a Public Service Announcement, Dachshund’s should never be around rabbits. Not ever. There will likely be a tragedy.
