You can hear Mom Cat saying, Of course he’s adopted, but we love him like our own.

comic reversals were common in medieval art; in reality of course the dog would be riding a giant snail with a trained hunting rabbit. https://t.co/VO0um4ycYX

Something good? Our new Breezair evaporative whole-house cooler is just about installed, the test run is happening as I type. Just in time for the upcoming desert heat of western Colorado. You know what, I’m going out on a limb so far as to say that this is GREAT news.

Cat momma cleaning cute puppy is a squee moment.
It’s a perfect day in Seattle after a couple overcast days. 65° or so.

How could you NOT adopt the “0 days since I smacked someone” cat?
TheOtherHank
I feel like reaching toward the “It has been X days since I smacked someone” sign to update the number would result in getting smacked.

One nice thing I encountered while researching Turkish politics was a long Twitter thread about the cats of Istanbul. They’ve been regarded as respected members of the community for generations.

Funny pet story of the day. We had the plumbers over today to replace our toilets, and they staged everything for the upstairs bathroom in the exact spot where our house rabbit usually chills. It’s a sort of passageway between the livingroom, bedroom, and bathroom, where he can keep an eye on all the comings and goings. We usually have a cushion and a water dish for him there and he often spends part of the night there when he’s not on our bed. Anyway, the plumbers setting down all their stuff in that spot made our normally timid rabbit very territorial, and he spent the whole time trying to get underfoot of these two huge plumbers. One 4 lb bunny vs. two 250 lb. plumbers with steel toed boots. He kept running up and nipping their ankles, trying to move the cardboard boxes with the new toilets (funny), and I finally had to corner him under the couch and guard him because every few minutes he would try to sneak back and terrorize the plumbers! It was both cute and disturbing.

@C Stars: Doesn’t Monty Python have a terror rabbit somewhere?
Those plumbers probably went home and told funny stories about your bunny

I made this for dinner tonight:
https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a36828012/vegetarian-chili-mac-recipe/
It’s pretty good! I followed the recipe pretty closely except that I had to sub in green chilis for the adobo ones. I’d say it could use a little something with a bit of kick, like some cayenne, but probably the adobo would’ve helped with that, too.

@FelonyGovt: That cat looks so innocent!

@Dorothy A. Winsor: Holy Grail.

@Dorothy A. Winsor: Yes, I think they were a little shocked by how aggressive he was. I think it was also not ideal working conditions, moving around toilet parts with a tiny bunny trying to interfere with your work.

Since their ethical issues have been exposed more recently, I’m not sure if this will be all that hard-hitting. But I will set the DVR, just in case.

@Jackie: @Baud: Texas outlaws veterinarians providing care to cats who raise puppies. Idaho passes “fugitive cat act” criminalizing any assistance to cats who raise puppies or who try to leave the state with a puppy. South Carolina bans all books in which cats and dogs appear together in a way that might suggest cohabitation.
That this sh!t practically writes itself probably is not an entirely good thing.

Question for the wimmenfolk.
Found a cute T-shirt on Amazon would like to send for Mother’s Day but unsure about the size.
She’s 95 years old, probably down to 5’3″ by now (guessing), average weight and bust for her size. I’m thinking women’s Medium? Better too loose than too snug.
Narya
@C Stars: the trick is making a good bean stew, basically, and cooking the pasta separately. I can tell you how I make mine if you want.
buggrit
@NotMax: Yes, I think medium would probably work. Is there a size chart on the seller’s page?
NotMax
@buggrit
Thanks. There is, kind of (waist and bust size the only things listed) but as I don’t know her measurements, of no aid.
Anne Laurie
@NotMax: Order the medium, tell your mom she can return it if she wants a different size. (Some women like ‘cute’ tshirts to sleep in, so possibly she might even choose to size up!)

@Geminid: Have you seen the documentary Kedi about them? I see others got there first.

@C Stars: How do you deal with the poop problem? My understanding is that rabbits generally crap about once every 5 minutes. Is he/she housebroken or do you just locate them and trash them?
