    Reposted from the other thread- I just watched Kamala come out and speak. First few things that come to mind:

    First: Walz and his wife look positively ecstatic when she comes out – they’re having the time of their lives. (EDIT: Doug Emhoff, too – it looks like Walz is asking him “did you know about this?”)

    Second: Kamala is stunning when she comes out, and she’s really happy looking too. Huge contrast with the Republican piles of angry fat screaming blobs

    Third: Her speech was short, excellent, and really big on thanking Joe Biden. Good for her and way to pump up the crowd. The crowd, of course, went nuts.

    Seriously though, Kamala is just owning the moment and everything about her is just top tier this last month.

    NBC is much better. They actually let the speakers be heard.

    @lamh47: I think that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez  also learned  a lot from her peers. The House Class of 2018 added a lot of talented and capable Democrats to Congress, from a diverse bunch of districts. There was an especially strong contingent of women, I thought.

    @lamh47: I thought that Ocasio-Cortez did well to ditch her chief of staff, Saikat Chakribarti, in August, 2019. Chakribarti’s organization Justice Democrats was instrumental in Ocasio-Cortez’s primary win over Joe Crowley 10 months before, but then Chakribarti started picking fights before Ocasio-Cortez was even sworn in.

    He’s the guy who shot his mouth off about primarying Hakeem Jeffries, when Jeffries was elected the new Caucus Chairman. The election was held a couple weeks after the 2018 midterms. Chakribarti had wanted Barbara Lee to win the post, and claimed the Jeffries camp used underhanded tactics to defeat her. Politico reporter Laura Barron-Lopez was happy to record the big plans this “source close to” Representative-elect Ocasio-Cortez had to get even.

    The chief of staff picked his worst fight during the Caucus blow-up over emergency border funding. That one was in July of 2019 and took over a week to resolve. Both Chakribarti and press secretary Corbin Trent were gone the next month.
