@WaterGirl: Short version: anything leagcy media can’t bothsides, it simply doesn’t report on. So Trump’s cognitive decline is off limits to NYT, since there is no credible related thing that Harris can be attacked with to provide the bothsides balance.
ETA: it’s a good insight. “Trump is in cognitive decline, but Kamala is … ?”
Trump is incoherent and can’t land a punch on Harris.
So, they have nothing to run to Harris to get a reaction.
Harris refusing to take the bait gives them.nothing to talk about because they were so used to letting Trump set the tone
They were stenographers who were just writing about back and forth
But, with Harris unwilling to play that game, they don’t know what to do.
This was one video, but she did three expanding on the idea, and why legacy media were salty that content creators were invited to the DNC.
Totally OT, but Meghan Markle stand recognized the same tone and tenor in that ridiculous article about the VP and her expectations of people who work for her 😒

@WaterGirl: I watched it: it was pretty informative.
TL;DR legacy media (e.g. FTFNYT) is only willing to cover an aspect of the race if they can bothsides it. So TCFG’s cognitive decline, they could cover along with Biden’s. But with Harris …. now they can’t cover it, b/c there’s no bothsides there. Similarly, TCFG tries to attack Harris, but (a) his attacks are completely laughable, and (b) Harris just shrugs them off, not firing back, so again, there’s no back-and-forth that FTFNYT could cover as a “both sides” sort of thing.
I hadn’t thought of things this way, but it seems (-seems-) to make sense. As she pointed out, this is why they ask such -inane- questions as “can you campaign on joy?!?!??” I mean, WTF, right ?
@divF: @rikyrah: Really appreciate the summaries, thank you!

There was a similarly written about Meghan Markle..in the tabloids in England
Her always being prepared.
Her waking up early and expecting her staff to be as prepared as she was. She looked at her Royal Duties as a job, and used her work ethic when tackling it.
Don’t forget…the Post just hired those phucking editors from England, who thought that this story was somehow supposed to disparage Meghan.
The Americans reading it just said
.so?
Meghan is being a professional.
Same tone in this article about Harris
She is #2 in the Government and she’s not supposed to expect prepared staff going above the basics?
As if, ‘ who is this Black woman to have standards, and expect them of others’?
@Chet Murthy: I don’t live there, but one thing about Pennsylvania that stands out to me is the way Senator Bob Casey Jr. won reelection in 2018 by over 600,000 votes. A popular politician. Casey is on the ballot again this year and that should help the top of the ticket.

I so enjoyed this post at Daily Kos. Don’t know anything about the person who wrote it, whether or not it is true or viable – but I love it
So, here are six predictions for this coming election based on key facts and what I’m observing.
1) Kamala Harris will be the first woman president of the United States.
2)The election will be a landslide for the Dems up and down the ballot.
3)The MSM will feign total shock at the outcome, and use their willful ignorance of what is happening today to justify questioning the validity of the election.
3)The MSM will feign total shock at the outcome, and use their willful ignorance of what is happening today to justify questioning the validity of the election.
The election will be uncomfortably close. Every poll suggests that.
And Trump voters don’t give a flying fuck about anything the media might say about him, or however senile he looks. They aren’t voting for him because of his person and it is a mistake to think that. They are voting for him because that is how they assert power over the libs. These are my people. My whole extended family is packed with Trumpers. A Trump vote is nothing more than a big fuck you to the libs. That is all it is. They have been trained not to expect anything positive out of government and so they don’t.

I feel like the Goldman Sachs favorable fiscal report on Harris cs Trump and the Cheney endorsements are coming from the same corners of the Republican world and are coordinated. They send the same message to the same people.
On the other hand, these were the people who wanted Jeb! and they couldn’t make that happen. But it’s not a ^bad* thing for Harris.

@Geminid: Two things about the race: Casey stays close to his constituents and advocates for seniors and people with disabilities. A good guy. His opponent is another parachuted in former hedge fund manager and terrible campaigner.
For House races, Janelle Stelson, a former tv anchor, is being seen as having a good chance to beat Scott Perry. That would be a great take down.
