Update: We did it! You guys rock!
Reminder: We have a 6x match in place for this final stretch for NCAAT. And the $4k Angel check that gets mailed as soon as we hit $21,000! (Taking us to $25,000!)
And we have a new Angel for $250 for the Nebraska House NE-02 & Senate Race, so that’s a 2x match to help get us to the top!
No need to tell us about your donations to get the match. If it goes in the thermometer, it will be matched. Until we hit our goals!
And we have THREE $10 bonus NCAAT Angel matches for folks who tend to donate in the $4-$20 range. Hate to have those 3 unused! (Reminder, that makes your $10 donation turn into $90!)
If we can finish these off, we’ll take the weekend off, and then on Monday roll out:
Operation Blue Arizona
We’ve got:
- our final two organizations for AZ, Worker Power and Four Directions AZ
- great candidates
- two AZ Supreme Court Republican judges that are up for retention (hopefully not retained!)
- Abortion Rights is on the ballot.
But we can’t start those until we finish up these. :-)
But maybe everyone is already tapped out?
I’m heading out to water my flowers, but I’ll be back in shortly to hopefully catch a few bonus NCAAT matches.

Alas, I’ve been handing out political donations right and left (well, actually more left) but now I’m needing expensive plumbing work done, so I have to slow down on donations for the moment.
sixthdoctor
Put 50 into Nebraska.
WaterGirl
@Rose Weiss: Sorry to hear that. Ugh on plumbing issues.
SuzieC
Donated $25.
WaterGirl
@sixthdoctor: We are so close1
@SuzieC: Thank you!
Emily B.
Kicked in $10 for that 9x match.
Paul W.
Ok, my time has come after getting payroll. Will do 25 to both

Once more with $10 to NCAAT and $5 to Nebraska. Have tried to help build to the top so let’s go!
Manyakitty
$50 and $50
So fun to pop back in and see the thermometers moving 😃
Redshift
In for both!

Again, Watergirl, thanks for the NE boost. I’m really excited that this might be a good year for them. I have to be honest, I have a lot of family there that the republican policies directly hurt. So when I saw there were good things happening, I paid attention.

I have a new fundraising suggestion that had kind of slipped under my radar: Missy Cotter Smasal in VA-02. This is was Elaine Luria’s seat until the midterms, so it’s definitely winnable. It’s currently held by the awful Jen Kiggans (all Virginia Republicans are awful at this point.) There was a public poll out last week showing it basically tied; Kiggans up by one!
She’s being outraised about two to one, but the House Majority PAC appears to have dumped a lot of money into ads. That may mean it’s not a good fit for us in terms of impact, but I wanted to put it out there.

Donated $30 to NCAAT. Thanks, Watergirl for providing an opportunity to have an impact.

Just put in $150 for NCAAT. Over the top!

As someone who, for some of my earlier years, was in the ramen-noodle* income bracket, I love the $4-$20 tier. Much appreciated!
*In my case, the staple item was peanut butter. I still remember the sense of anguish when I set my grocery bag down too hard at the bus stop, and heard the new PB jar break.

Woooooo!!!! 🎉

@eponymous: Great to hear! Nebraska is a state I’ve never been to – south or north of there but go Cornhuskers! (? I’ve been to the Corn Palace in a state to the south).
WaterGirl
@Dan B: Looks like you’re good!
WaterGirl
@H.E.Wolf: Oh, no!
I have been in that bracket myself! One summer, I swear I would have gone hungry if my neighbor hadn’t given me a million tomatoes from her garden!
bluefoot
@H.E.Wolf: Oh god – what you say about peanut butter. Something similar happened to me but it was a container of milk. And then I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get my remaining groceries home because the milk wrecked the paper bag.

@WaterGirl:
Oh lordy. My heart sank for both of you, just reading those recollections.
Maybe the silver lining to those desperate days is the ability to remember what it’s like, and comprehend what others are going through.
WaterGirl
@H.E.Wolf: Absolutely!
The fact that I totally suck at directions and get totally stressed when I get lost is what has given me patience with people who get totally flustered by computer stuff – i can’t judge them for that because I know how it feels.
