To put it crudely but simply: wad, shot. So what’s next? This is a serious question. There are 44 days left, and one-trick ponies get pretty dull in 6 weeks.
If you haven’t seen Jasmine Crockett’s questioning of some clown brought in to claim (falsely) that no money has been spent on rural broadband, it’s worth a watch, but the last piece could describe the Trump campaign as well as most other Republican efforts:

IIRC there has always been a significant difference in price for store brand vs higher tier eggs. I know some locals were selling home grown eggs for 5 to $10 a dozen pre pandemic.
I think the pandemic and bird flu shortages cleaned a lot of the lower priced eggs off the shelves and drove up store brand prices, but it seemed like the higher priced alternative didn’t go up proportionately and have come back a bit. So the price difference became more compressed. That’s based on my anecdotal experience.
Safeway store brand large eggs are currently 3.49 a dozen. The premium eggs are $5-7, super premium $7-9. The non sale low end is about double what I remember pre shortages. The high end is maybe 20-50% higher than it was
ETA Kroger eggs here are running $3.69 a dozen.
It seems like they were a bit lower in general this summer

Having raised chickens, I don’t think people appreciate how much work they do to produce a dozen eggs. And how much good chicken feed costs. If you want eggs to last longer, don’t wash them and don’t refrigerate them. From the standpoint of the chicken, 2 or 3 or 4 bucks a dozen is a bargain. Hens should organize; they need a union. An early version of it would have taxed the breaks that graduate student TAs get on tuition (which is often theoretically most of their “compensation”) as regular income.

Last Saturday I went to my 50th high school class reunion here in in 70% Trump rural Oregon. I was a bit apprehensive but only one guy started running his mouth on politics with me. Stopped himself after a few minute of silence from the 3 people he was talking to. Really nice evening.
Yesterday afternoon we held a memorial gathering to reminisce about my Mom who passed away in July. Lots of old friends and relatives. The only hitch in it was one guy my age that was our next door when I was a teenager. He was wearing a hat with FU46 stitched on it. He didn’t say anything but I rather abruptly walked away when I figured it out. A strange sartorial choice for for such an event.

TL;DR- prices were up 2.5 percent from August 23 to August 24. That’s slightly more than August 18 to August 19 (1.7%) and slightly less than August 17 to August 18 (2.7%).

Talking about the price of a dozen eggs when he’s holding two dozen, right in front of a sign that says the price of eggs is $2.99/dozen. That’s a roughly 25% overestimate over the actual price. And it looks worse b/c he’s holding twice as many eggs. Nobody is going to fucking look up stats on eggs, it’s a stupid segment.
Maybe the price of eggs was ~$1.50/dozen in January 2021 on average but it’s 3.20/now. It was maybe $4.82 in January 2023.
But he’s talking about the price of eggs NOW.
The article blames bird flu outbreaks — which dipshit and TFG will not help with b/c they want to deregulate everything into the sun. And the scotus basically hamstrung all the regulatory agencies thanks to trump’s appointees recent rulings.

I think we have to assume that the Tim/Tom scandal means the Supreme Court will insist Walz be removed from the ballot in November, and if there is no Harris/Walz ticket, Harris has to be removed as well.

@karen marie: its probably the same person/people. The ones I saw were at Dobson+Guadalupe and Horne+McKellips. Guess they don’t realize they could use stencils to make the signs faster and make them look more professional😆. There’s also a big multi-ad repeating tv kind of billboard on the I10 near the Broadway curve with an Arizona loves TFG pic. Gawd, I hope that’s wrong. There’s an AZ Republcans for Harris billboard on the other direction of the I-10(currently the heavier construction side so i don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.)

I thought Glenn Youngkin would have been Trump’s best choice from an electoral standpoint. That is usually the most important criteria, but Trump may have figured Youngkin was too good and would outshine him. And at the time Trump made the decision he was confident he did not need help from his ticket-mate.

It’s not intended to be a means for the Vice-President to seize power from an unfit President, because of the potential for abuse. The VP and Cabinet can only inactivate him for a short time unless he cooperates. If he doesn’t, and declares that he’s OK, it takes a supermajority of both houses of Congress to keep him out, a harder lift than an impeachment-trial conviction. The VP would have to rely on a bipartisan consensus backing up his scheme, and at this point, I think most Democrats regard Vance as a worse egg than Trump.
So if Vance is planning on that route to seize power, he’s a fool.

It just occurs to me … what store gave Vance permission to film this nonsense?
I was threatened with being thrown out of a grocery store many years ago for taking pictures with a single-shot camera. Vance had have a number of people with him. How many SS does he travel with? Then there’s campaign staff and a film crew. I can’t move very close to my screen to read the dairy products, because my cat is sleeping between the back of my chair and my back and if I move she’ll fall down, but it looks like Krogers. But where? Whose permission was obtained?
