I heard from Worker Power today.
And I heard from the fellow in charge of Field Operations for Dan Osborn in Nebraska.
By this coming Sunday at noon, they will have 5 field offices open in western Nebraska. That’s up from zero when I first spoke with him a week ago. It might be harsh to say field operations were non-existent before then, but not by a lot.
Anyone else hearing any good news on the ground?

We have Angel matches up to $100 per person per thermometer for all 4 organization at the moment. If you want to be matched, you can add your donations here.

Sixty Minutes is all over the maga party of Arizona.
Regnad Kcin
can you give contact info for Nebraska guy? i have people looking to spend time on the ground somewhere other than deep-blue Massachusetts
WaterGirl
@JPL: I’m confused about why everyone is talking about 60 Minutes on Monday, This must be the special episode where they were going to air Ha?rris and Trump back-to-back until he chickened out?
WaterGirl
@Regnad Kcin: Hmm, interesting. How many people might you be talking about?
bbleh
About all I’m getting in PA is anecdotal stuff about how excited and positive people are about voting and organizing and everything else. Could just be cuz I’m hanging with fellow converts, but otoh there’s not a hint of the … worried dutifulness that I heard a few months ago. FWIW …
JPL
@WaterGirl: yes The questions were tough, which I think is okay. They were prepared for them and they had the opportunity to call trump a chicken. They were nicer than that, but made their point.
The Sixty Minute interviw is custom. They agreed to interview trump at Mar a Lago, they agreed to interview trump at Butler, Pa, they did what ever he asked. He backed out because of fact checks. He lied about the previous interview.
Since trump backed out, Sixty Minutes had time to report on the magas in Arizona.
WaterGirl
@JPL: Positive reporting about MAGAs? Or negative?
JPL
@WaterGirl: omg Very negative. It’s her right to believe what she believes without evidence. Someone else has to determine whether the evidence is factual.

I think this has been discussed before, but why is Harris’ %age lower than Gallegos’?
Gloria DryGarden
Tears of gladness. Gallegos, yes! I forget, is their current senator a republican, and we’ll be gaining a seat?
President Harris, well, here’s hoping all those canvassers etc on th3 ground will tip it to blue.
Joy in FL
Thank you for the good news!
I put in $15 for Dan Osborn.
I dropped my mail-in ballot off today at my county’s Supervisor of Elections office. It felt so good to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, and also Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for Senator.

@Gloria DryGarden: I think it’s “which way is the wind today” Sinema.
Matt McIrvin
@Kristine: she’s a woman, and black, and a woman
Westyny
@Gloria DryGarden: it’s Sinema’s seat. Glad to see Harris in positive territory. Hoping to send more cash.
Princess
Who are the Trump — Gallego voters? I will never understand this. A couple percent, maybe. But this big a spread?
Princess
@Matt McIrvin: Yeah but there’s a similar split in Nevada and Rosen is a woman. And it’s not like Gallegos is white. And these two senate seats are never this easy for Dems.
@Matt McIrvin:
WaterGirl
@JPL: who is the “her” there?
WaterGirl
@Kristine: Not sure.
Kamala is newer? They all saw Lake last time and she’s nuts, and Gallego has been campaigning for year.
Just my thoughts.
WaterGirl
@Regnad Kcin:
Please send me email with contact information so I can put him in touch with anyone who’s interested in helping in Nebraska.
JPL
@WTaterGirl: Ticket splitting is not that uncommon.
JPL
@WaterGirl: The her is the gal who challenged the Maricopa county ballots because she had a feeling.
WaterGirl
@Matt McIrvin: You forgot the second “black”.
KatKapCC
@WaterGirl: I appreciate the phrase “collecting humans”.
WaterGirl
@JPL: I have had it with people who make stuff up out of thin air.
WaterGirl
@KatKapCC: I liked “madly collecting humans”
Suzanne
@Gloria DryGarden: No, Gallego is running to replace Sinema.
Suzanne
@Princess:
Gallego is popular in his district, which was one of the two “majority-minority” districts in AZ when it was subject to the VRA. Formerly represented by Ed Pastor, who held that seat forever. Heavily Latino district.
I am guessing that there’s a small-but-significant slice of the Latino electorate that likes Gallego but isn’t into Harris. Male privilege is a thing, too.
WaterGirl
@Joy in FL: Your $15 is matched!
WaterGirl
@Princess: Gallego gains 3 points and Lake loses 5 points compared to Trump. It’s the combination that makes the 8 point difference.
Another Scott
+$100+ each for the 6 thermometers on the sidebar.
Tick tock tick tock …
Forward!!
Cheers,
Scott.

@WaterGirl: NC 2020 we brought down 9 of us; GA 2022 just 3 — trying to put Sam Wang’s votemaximizer to work

@Another Scott: Thank you!!!
WaterGirl
@Regnad Kcin: Wow!

@JPL: Are we talking about Kari Lake?
piratedan
Lake burned the bridges and salted the fields two years ago with endless frivolous lawsuits challenging her defeat for Governor. So she’s also helped create fissures in the State GOP by draining the coffers and making zero moves to mend fences with the chamber of commerce GOP. Trump may still appeal to those folks to whom misogyny is simply part of who they are.
As has been mentioned here, AZ is getting a LOT of attention with more than a few GOP for Kamala events here and the campaign making a decided push here (Walz is here on Wednesday in Tucson, but I am working, else I would go) due to there being the Senate, Congressional and potentially a legislative flip.
Gloria DryGarden
@Suzanne: getting rid of sinema, it’s sort of flipping a seat. I know she started out as “democrat” but someone like Gallegos will be a welcome improvement. And more effective too.

Just gave $25 to Tester thermometer and $15 to Osborne thermometer.
Not sure if those are match-eligible but there it is.
I live here in Lincoln. I plan to spend several days in Omaha volunteering for Harris and Tony Vargas towards the end of the month. I will of course vote for Osborne but I want to get out the D vote in the 2nd District most of all.
cmorenc
An implication of the Az Presidential and Senate polls is that even for a substantial share of Trump voters, Keri Lake is so crazy and toxic that they’ll vote for a Democrat instead of Lake.
anastasio beaverhausen
I finally received notice I am registered in South Dakota! I mentioned in previous posts they welcome expats but make it incredibly difficult to actually register to vote. But I persevered and did it. Have requested the absentee ballot and will cast my largely symbolic vote when it comes.
Matt McIrvin
@anastasio beaverhausen: Congrats!
Matt McIrvin
@cmorenc: Trump just did the same damn thing as Kari Lake nationally! I suspect being a woman and insane increases the perception of insanity by about 300%.
terraformer
here in deep-red Waukesha county, Wisconsin – I have never seen so many Democratic political signs as this year. Just lots of Harris-Walz signs everywhere (and down-ticket as well).
There are a fair number of Trump-Vance signs, too, but they seem to be in response to nearby Democratic signs, almost as a “oh yeah?” gesture

In case folks are still looking for it, the email address of the Field Director for Dan Osborn for Senate is Scott Mackey: [email protected]
