And then there was the (In the General Vicinity of) Coachella rally this weekend…

Stop saying Trump had a rally at Coachella.

Trump held a rally at a manure farm.

He bused in thousands of his cult believers to hear him speak.

And then left them to wallow in their own shit in the dead of night. https://t.co/oZIZzu2kGF

— Ragnarok Lobster ?? (@eclecticbrotha) October 13, 2024

Fact check: "The Trump rally in Coachella was estimated to accommodate up to 15,000 ppl," according to the Riverside County Fire Marshall.

There was only seating for 4,700. There were 10,000 present, max—buses could not handle more than that.

In the blockbuster movie version, Vem Miller gets his name above the title, and a series of cameos as he preps for the Big Climax…

The man arrested for allegedly having two unregistered, loaded guns near a Trump event this weekend says:

1) He's a Trump supporter
2) He's been helping with the re-elect
3) He was invited to the rally

He's been released from custody, facing misdemeanors

Vem Miller, the armed man arrested outside Trump's rally, has an extensive online footprint and is a Trump supporter.

Early assessment of his online content suggests he's deep into a wide variety of conspiracy theories about Covid, vaccines, 9/11, weather, elections and more. pic.twitter.com/6OcEJenCyh

— Mindy MF Robinson ???? (@iheartmindy) October 13, 2024

America, like sh*t, Happens!!!

…Vem had just exposed a huge Deep State cover-up involving the Feds and the Bundy Ranch scandal. So I firmly believe this is 100% some kind of set-up in retribution for exposing it. That, or Trump’s security team is a bunch of dipshits trying to make up for how badly they failed in Pennsylvania with any kind of “win” they can get, fake or not.

There isn’t a universe his intention was to kill Trump, he’s worked too hard in this movement to expose the Deep State and all the people against him. If he had guns in his car that were illegal, whooptie-fucking do. As a pro-2A advocate, ask me if I give a shit about a good guy with a gun in an unsafe shithole like California. It doesn’t even make sense why his passes would be fake either when we’re both usually invited as media to these things.

And I’d love to see exactly what this “threat” was he made about Trump…..because I don’t believe he said it. I just know it’s going to be the most misconstrued bullshit thing ever when I finally hear, assuming they even ever tell us.

This is the anti-Deep State documentary we did that they’re probably targeting him for, where we actually suspected they killed our whistleblower over it….it’s that damning to this illegitimate government: https://rumble.com/v5e9k6a-bundy-vs.-deep-state-an-original-america-happens-documentary.html

We were also working on a sequel to my Las Vegas shooting cover-up doc as well, which might be another reason why someone would target him for this….. https://rumble.com/v266as0-conspiracy-truths-the-route-91-documentary.html

Either way, I stand by Vem Miller….and I will get to the bottom of this bullshit. Watch me.

Just ask the January 6th rioters who were abandoned by Trump and are now serving time in prison. https://t.co/rpvlsDmIqH

His mind is going, with frontal lobe dysfunction becoming more and more obvious. He’s able to repeat FoxNews chyrons, but not able to follow through a lengthy train of thought. Even simple questions were wearing him down. And this is the first public instance of a complete shut-down, probably due to heat and fatigue. Heather Cox Richardson ain’t never lied to me.  I saw some comments yesterday saying this story is a conspiracy theory on our side, but here it is, directly from Heather:

News broke yesterday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) had advised federal emergency workers to evacuate Rutherford County, North Carolina, which was hit hard by Hurricane Helene, because of concerns about their safety after Trump and MAGA Republicans spread the false rumor that federal agents are forcing people off their land to start lithium mining projects. The alert came after the U.S. Forest Service sent an email to federal responders saying that National Guard troops had encountered armed militia saying they were “hunting FEMA.” FEMA officials will no longer go door-to-door with disaster assistance, but instead will stay in fixed locations.

    The WaPo, fwiw:

Trump’s decision to cut short the question-and-answer portion of the town hall and instead have the crowd stay to listen to his favorite songs was a somewhat bizarre move, given that the election was only 22 days away. It also comes as Vice President Kamala Harris has called Trump, 78, unstable and called into question his mental acuity.

“A somewhat bizarre move” – no shit, Sherlock!

And trust me, you fucking idiots at the WaPo, MVP is far from the only person who’s “called into question his mental acuity.” Hell, anyone with a lick of sense figures that question’s been repeatedly answered by now.

The actual reason trump supporters got stranded

I know multiple people that worked there that night as bus drivers. The real reason they stopped shuttling them was for safety. One of the male drivers was punched in the face and had to go to the hospital and one of the female drivers had someone spit on her (ironically she’s a huge trump supporter.) They were all apparently pounding on the bus windows and just generally out of control but I guess that’s what happens when you go to a hate rally

No.  This is classic cult-building (or -maintaining) technique: isolate the followers and put them in conditions of physical stress (temperature, exhaustion, etc).  They bond to the group (more) closely, become more wary of outsiders, and lose frontal-lobe capacities.

(I feel a little sorry for them… but in the way I feel for an addict not in recovery: they knew at some point what manure pile they were getting into, and chose—to the extent that they still had rationality and free will—to keep going instead of turning around and heading in the opposite direction.)

In much happier news:  at this very moment, two new panda overlords are airborne, from Chengdu to Anchorage to Dulles.  DC’s National Zoo-bound pandas are on the move!  Due to arrive via their special Fedex jet about 9:55 am.  Flight catered with bamboo.

    WaPost:

Two giant pandas on their way from China to D.C.’s National Zoo

Giant pandas Qing Bao and Bao Li, both 3 years old, won’t be on display for at least several weeks.

Just under a year after the last giant pandas left the national’s capital, fans of the black-and-white bears are eagerly awaiting Qing Bao, a 3-year-old female, and Bao Li, a 3-year-old male. Their arrival will mark the continuation of a beloved animal conservation program in Washington that goes back more than a half-century.

The zoo has been mum about the pandas’ travel plans for security reasons, but it posted on X on Monday afternoon that “something giant is coming.”

The bears are being transported on a FedEx Boeing 777 cargo jet nicknamed the “Panda Express” from Chengdu, China. FedEx also did not disclose details of the trip but said on X on Monday that the Panda Express was “on the move.” A FedEx cargo jet from Chengdu via Anchorage is scheduled to arrive at Dulles International Airport at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, according to FlightAware, a website that tracks air traffic.

The government-run China Wildlife Conservation Association said that the bears were given a final health check before departing, and that veterinarians and zookeepers would escort them. In addition to the bamboo, they said Chinese cornbread, water and medicine were packed for the trip.

The zoo will be closed Tuesday for the bears’ arrival, and once they move in, it will be at least several weeks before they are on display for the public. But if all goes well, zoo-goers in Washington will soon be able to watch a new generation of the beloved bears grow from adolescence to adulthood, and maybe produce some giant panda cubs along the way.

Plus, the same thing happened with Walz at an early rally and he stopped the proceedings, directed first responders to the person, and handled the whole thing like an empathetic adult.

I had something of a realization visiting my parents last weekend.  Fox News actually does a better job of informing people of D policy initiatives than the other networks, even if only to slime them. For example, I would not know that Michigan is offering free community college without Fox News.

Every editorial comment around the discussion of the policy was horrifying, granted, but it was nice for once to have an outlet drawing attention to a simple act of governing. FOR ONCE…

He might try the Chris Wallace move.  A decent interview with Harris, i.e., one that is not just FOX talking points, would be a platform for him to kick that off.

@Baud: I read the Politico article and it seemed like the health issues were ambiguous and maybe not acute. Justice looks like he lives on platters of sausage gravy on biscuits and is obviously obese. This might or might not be the reason for his lack of attention to his job; he might just be lazy.

But Senator is not that bad a job for a lazy man if he’s not ambitious. Justice only has to show up for important votes. And the Senate has a four day work week for like forty weeks a year. I doubt if Justice intends to run for another term so there’s little pressure to perform. He can hire a competent staff to do his office’s work.

Come January, Justice will be under the DC spotlight so if he’s in truly bad health we’ll find out then. If he’s just lazy I think we’ll hear him on the news shows because he seems to like talking to reporters.

The Harrisonburg radio station I listen to has a lot of West Virginia listeners and covers their news as well as Virginia’s. They covered a lot of Justice’s news conferences during the pandemc, and they do now on occasion. I think Justice is fairly good at that part of his job.

No. If Vance and a majority of the Cabinet say Trump can’t handle the job anymore, and Trump doesn’t respond with a written declaration to the House and Senate, Vance is acting President, and that’s as far as it goes.

Full text of Section 4 below, but the ‘Thereafter’ paragraph only comes into play if Trump provides the written declaration that he’s still good to go.  Show me where it says otherwise.

Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department [sic][note 2][7] or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Nope, Pence will be the first. No matter how demented he becomes he’s never going to forget Pence certified the 2020 election.

Boo! They should have flown on the Queen of the Skies!

@Omnes Omnibus: LowTech is taking the correct high road on this one, gently point to it as a root of the evil it decries. I think it’s also worthwhile in this particular space to point to the way it may be the product of dark rooms and too many screens. Or a simple vitamin deficiency. My grandfather once took apart his oven because he took his low salt diet too far.

Well there is the stress of losing the family fortune.

King Coal is dead, and whatever interests line up behind the WV GOP, he’s going to be the odd man out.

Diwali will now be an official State Holiday in Pennsylvania (no business or school closures required).

    That’s awesome.

Diwali falls on October 31 this year.

@3Sice: At one point the Justices were one of the biggest land holders in North Carolina. They bought up a lot of big soybean and grain operations. I think they lost those holdings a while ago.

@Formerly disgruntled in Oregon: Is my schedule wrong? I thought Thursday was the internet’s “misappropriate history for temporally displaced dehumanization” day.

I’m pretty sure it’s never the day after Canadian Thanksgiving.

@Omnes Omnibus: Is there glory available?

look, the comment is nuts. You people sometimes need someone from the wrong side of your community’s tracks to say what you won’t. Eliminationist language deployed against the kinds of deluded and degraded people people that Trump uses and abuses is trash. It helps Trump, it’s juvenile, it makes us all worse. And to me trying to appropriate the Holocaust as an excuse makes it worse, not better.

@Bupalos: I disagreed with the eliminationist rhetoric.  Note my comment to LTC.  That being said, you were mocking someone for saying that their family had been victims of the Holocaust.  IOW, you were being an asshole.

gwangung: Obviously our priorities or interpretation of the original comment are not the same. I don’t do much anti-anti dehumanization work.
But if this was a person genuinely destabilized by the events of the 30’s and 40’s Europe and encouraging eliminationist mindsets against people today on that basis, I wouldn’t make light of it, I’d be more confrontational.
It’s not. It’s just some polarized rhetoric on the internet that strayed into a very offensive place.

so a jocular “you’re bugfuck” I think is in bounds.
