As you can see, we didn’t hit our goal of having the calendar available for oder by December 1.
I can assure you that we have spent countless hours on the calendar and are working as fast as we can. We had about 250 submissions, so that means 2 calendars – at 20 photos on a page, they would all have to be the size of postage stamps. :-)
Hoping to have spreadsheets available in a day or two so you can make sure all your guys are in the same calendar, that everything is spelled right, and that heart status is correct.
In the meantime, though, you can have a sneak peek at the 5 finalists for the calendar covers.
In no particular order…
Nancy
Very nice.
rikyrah
OMG..
that first pic…gorgeous :)
those beautiful,soulful eyes
SiubhanDuinne
They are all wonderful covers. One of them, of course, must be that chill kitteh out among the flowers; I am incapable of choosing among all the doggos. Cuteitude rules!
ETA: Yeah, I agree with @rikyrah. That is a beautiful, soulful face.
Mike in Oly
What?! Mr. Marley in the grass for a cover? He is a little supermodel, but this is a surprise. :)
WaterGirl
@Mike in Oly: Should Marley be Mr. Marley in the calendar?
Mr. Bear and Miss Willow have their proper titles in the calendar. :-)
edit: Just look at that tummy!

Four dog covers and only one cat?
Tikka and Champ demand a recount!

Awww…
Something Fabulous
Adorable!! They’ll be great & worth the wait!!

The Pet Calendar is always worth the wait and *everybody* should buy one. And if you don’t/won’t, send money to the shelter directly instead.

All beautiful! Of course I vote for my god-dog.
HinTN
@Tom Levenson: Agreed, it’s egregious. Unless that’s the ratio if doggo pix to feline overlords in the calendars themselves. Even so, one cover must be cats!
WaterGirl
@Tom Levenson: You know, we don’t categorize by dog and cat, so I don’t really know.
One year it seemed we had mostly cats. I really couldn’t say this year.
But i do agree that one of the covers should be a cat.
Sherparick1
@SiubhanDuinne: Yes, one of the calendar covers has to to be the cat or my cats will scream “discrimination!”
I love the portrait shot of the first dog.
Gloria DryGarden
The first picture! Omg
also, the cat / tummy in the meadow, that’s gorgeous
Annie
WaterGirl, which calendar will have a picture of your adorable Henry?
Mrscoachb
I vote the first picture and the cat…
Ruckus
I like one and two (in the order posted) best, but they are ALL good and any one is a fine pick.
And I’ll buy one no matter what the cover.
WaterGirl
@Annie: All my guys, including Henry, will be in Calendar A!
Mike in Oly
@WaterGirl: Just Marley is fine. I have a tendency to add an honorific for him and Miss Pearl, but it is not needed.
BretH
For a photo of dogs the composition of the first and fourth are better suited for a calendar cover, much as I appreciate seeing my Cody and Rosie there :)
WaterGirl
@BretH: I think you are probably right about that.
Such sweet pictures, though!
We are using the fence photo for your guys in the calendar.

Thanks for putting all the hard work in to preparing two calendars. If you’re accepting votes for cover designs, I choose #1 (dog closeup) and #5 (cat tummy). I will buy both calendars when they come out. I love seeing all the Jackal pets!
In the coming year, I will strive to submit more cat photos that would make excellent cover designs for 2025 calendars, so as to level the playing field for felines everywhere.
