Thought we could use one. Here’s a conversation starter:
Fictional women from tv I would die for:
Donna from the West Wing
Trixie from Californication
Kim Wexler from Better Call Saul
Janice from the Muppets
Sharona from Monk
Tootie from the Facts of Life— John Cole (@johngcole.bsky.social) January 19, 2025 at 10:57 PM
I will see myself out.
No One of Consequence
Dunno about Tootie, but I was friggin’ smittin’ with a young Janet Jackson on Different Strokes those couple of times she appeared, as I recall.

If we mean “die” in the Elizabethan sense, I have an extensive list that stretches back to childhood… but it’s Need To Know only. :)
danielx
I was enthralled with Katey Sagal in Married with Children, for reasons i don’t care to examine too closely.
thruppence
Mrs. Peel from The Avengers, but she could take care of herself.
Grover Gardner
I had the privilege of directing Rhea Seehorn in a stage play many years ago. A fascinating actor.
John Cole
@H.E.Wolf: I need to know
Wallis Lane
Bailey Quarters from WKRP.
John Revolta
@Wallis Lane: Oh Hell yes
But mainly Laura Petrie.
John Cole
@Wallis Lane: outstanding choice
Another Scott
Dixie Cousins (Kelly Rutherford) in The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr..
Figuratively, of course. :-)
Best wishes,
Scott.
marcopolo
Well, you do seem to have a type.
Surprised you didn’t mention Anna Torv from Fringe or Yvonne Strahovski from Chuck.
As for me, Emily Blunt in Edge of Tomorrow (and other films). Oh, and when I was much younger Diane Lane from A Little Romance (though she’s still got it at 60–her bday is 1/22).
And goodnight.
OCD
Solid list.
I would add Joe from Facts of Life too.
Goku (aka Amerikan Baka)
Bonnie Barstow from Knight Rider
oldgold
Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) on Star Trek: Voyager
Captain C
Parker from Leverage. One of my three favorite fictional thieves (the other two are Trent the Uncatchable and Slippery Jim DiGriz).
Dame N says for her it’s Ms. Marvel and Phryne Fisher.
divF
C’mon, if you’re going to pick someone from The West Wing it has to be C.J. Cregg. (Unless you want to get yourself in real trouble and go for Abbey Bartlett).
H.E.Wolf
@John Cole:
OK, just for you.
The list is, to put it mildly, eccentric. Leaving out TV and movies: when I was a very young child, I had an intense multi-year crush on the youngest shepherd in our family’s illustrated Christmas Carol songbook. I would page through the whole book, carefully skipping the shepherd page, and then…. with wildly beating heart… OPEN THE BOOK to that page and joyfully experience the exquisite pangs of limerance.
TV crushes still kind of take me that way. There are shows I delay re-watching, because the pleasure is too sublime. :)

If I swung in that direction, I’d die for Emma Peel, Lt. Uhuru, Dana Scully, and Zoe Washburne from Firefly. As it is I would fight to the death at their side.
noncarborundum
I’m also quite taken by Jess Bush’s Nurse Christine Chapel on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
espierce

Juliet
Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect
Olivia Hussey in Romeo and Juliet. I know it was a movie instead of TV but I was about the same age as her when the movie came out and we purposefully didn’t have a TV when I was growing up so this made more of an impression. Her character was also the source of my nym.
Pappenheimer
Mickle/the Beggar Queen from Westmark (literature counts, right?)
Pappenheimer
oh, and Pyrra Nikos from RWBY, though she’s more likely to save MY sorry @ss if there’s trouble

Delenn(Mira Furlan) Babylon 5 and Crazy French woman in Lost
leemajella
Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) from Scandal.

Beverly Owen as Marilyn Munster
Just about anyone who has played Wonder Woman
WTFGhost
@thruppence: I had to get over the sad fact that there was no Captain America, no Iron Man, etc., in “The Avengers”.
Either that, or puberty, helped me deal with the differences between the similarly named team-ups.
WTFGhost
@oldgold: Fair choice, but Janeway, and the mission, had me understanding the idea of “sometimes, someone dies, and we’re all glad it’s not us, and som… (final thought shredded as hard radiation obliterates all living (and dead, for that matter) tissue…).”
@noncarborundum: Legend has it, Dawn Wells’ first intro to the internet was doing a self-search (was Alta Vista the search king at the time?) and finding (I quote) “fifty people who wanted to spank Mary Ann.”
(Feel no shame if you feel like adding “51!” and “52!” since someone usually does.)
WTFGhost

Warren Senders
Rosa Diaz (played by Stephanie Beatriz in Brooklyn 99)
