I’m an insomniac. Giver sounds better.

And tonight, Daylight Saving Time is a taker, at least in the United States. Everyone plan accordingly.

See that there are brush fires on Long Island.
America needs to understand that the fires in California are not exclusive to the west. The consequence of climate change is that all kinds of areas are going to tip over from too wet to burn to dry enough to burn, and local governments are going to have to add spending on that kind of prevention and response to their preparedness budgets on top of all the stuff they traditionally have had to cover. This is why preventing climate change is cheaper than responding to it.

Hawaii, being more sensible about these things, never changes the clocks.

@Bruce K in ATH-GR: I forgot! My phone time just reminded me though. And AZ is one of those states that doesn’t change either, I think. Looking forward to a longer evening, I love DST.

I love Daylight Savings too, but I hate the changeover, it messes me up for a week. I wish they would move the clocks a half-hour instead of a whole hour, and then just leave it there and never change again.

I hate DST. I don’t need it to be light at 9 pm when it’s still 90 degrees. Plus I love morning light.
Ugh.

@eclare: Yep. Dawn is now far away.
My neighbor works in her brother’s bar and usually comes home, often loudly, at about 3am. Today it was 4am and louder than usual. So I am awake and it is still very dark.

@NotMax: Indiana lets each county decide. Yes, red state.
Understands the word, but not the meaning.

@eclare: I am with you. I hate DST. I’d rather have morning light and be able to sleep while it is cool at night. I have friends on the other end of the time zone (I’m in Boston) and it doesn’t get dark there until ~10pm in the summer. Ugh.

@Tehanu: Being in a half hour time zone with no DST woUld make life a little easier for those of us with remote coworkers in India.

Sun come up, sun go down.
Rinse, repeat.
You get to segment of life called old, you’ve seen time change a few times. Quite a few.
You get to the segment of life called even older, you understand, time is here, time go by, all you want is to wake up tomorrow.
Better yet is to travel from top to bottom and around and around this world, get to see it, get to meet people from many countries. Earth is not a bad place to call home. No matter what time it is.

Ok, so now YY is 12 hours ahead of blog time. Simpler math, for those who follow him.
